|You have been asked to provide information to learners who are about to begin their work |
|experience in a day centre for individuals with mental health problems. |
|Task 1 |

|Produce an information pack for the learners, which will support them on their work experience. |
|Your information pack should include different sections, which could be used as |
|fact sheets and should: |
|identify the main responsibilities of an adult social care worker |
|outline the responsibilities and limits of the relationships they may form between themselves |
|and the individuals who attend the centre |
|identify other people they may expect to work in partnership with at the centre |
|outline the need to report any suspicions about abuse or neglect whilst |
|on work experience at the centre. |

|The manager at the day centre has seen your information pack and is very impressed. He |
|would like you to produce a booklet which could be used to support staff in a range of different |
|adult social care settings. Your booklet should contain: |
|a page which identifies four daily tasks which must be undertaken in a range of adult |

|an outline of how a ‘duty of care’ might apply to the daily role of adult social care workers |
|three specific examples of how staff could provide a person-centred approach when |
|supporting individuals in day-to-day activities. |
