The venue comprises of three cinema screens, café, bar and restaurant as well as education facilities. The project is set up by a charitable trust, Lewes Community Screen. MissionTo run a Restaurant, Bar and Café as part of the Cinema and to become the chosen meeting place for Lewes and surrounding areas residents. To become renowned for excellent food and service as well as an exciting schedule of events revolving around film, food and drink.Core valuesCharitable, Independent, Inclusive, Inspired.OverviewThe restaurant supervisor ensures the smooth running of the bar and restaurant in the absence of a manager, running an efficient shift, handling any customer complaints and ensuring all service principles are met by all team members. In addition they ensure the venue is set up for business or closing it down securely at the end of the day.In addition to all the responsibilities and tasks of the Bar & Cafe Assistant, the Supervisor has the following responsibilities and duties;Communicate effectively with staff about events, private bookings, special occasionsMotivate the team, creating a positive atmosphere Handle any customer complaints according to proceduresManage any staffing issues that require immediate action and benefit from not waiting for a manager referralFollow venue opening procedures, prepare floats and ensure the venue is ready for businessFill in the relevant reports at the close of shiftSecure the venue on departureEssential Skills and Experience2 years+ experience in hospitality / front of houseExcellent customer service skillsExperience of coaching and instructing others Desirable Skills and ExperienceExperience of supervising a team in a front of house / hospitality environment Catering & Hospitality qualificationPerson Specification A professional and confident manner with excellent communications skills A commitment to high standards and excellent customer serviceA commitment to sustainability and our environmentA genuine interest in food, quality produce and wine Interest in film / the artsAbility to embrace a varied and diverse workforce, getting the best out of each individualDriven and proactiveThis job description sets out the accountabilities of the post at the time when it was drawn up.
