Retail Sales Associates are responsible for providing an exceptional shopping experience for every customer and in assisting the Store Manager with the daily operations and objectives of the Store. This job requires a blend of skill, strong communications, and immense dedication.

Duties and Responsibilities

? Follow standard operating procedures and complete all tasks as assigned by the Store Manager ? Maintain cleanliness of the store and replenish merchandise as it is sold ? Educate self on new product features and benefits if not part of sales training ? Acknowledge all customers and be attentive ? Interact with customers by assisting them in locating products, demonstrating product features and benefits

where applicable, and by offering suggestions and alternatives ? Strategize with Store Manager to meet sales targets ? Assist Associates and Customers with checkout to ensure fast and accurate service with a high-touch factor ? Maintain the proper display of products ensuring they comply with store's image & quality standards ? Report pricing discrepancies and loss and/or damage of products to Store Manager ? Provide ongoing updates to Store Manager regarding customer feedback and complaints ? Attend sales training meetings

Skills and Specifications

? Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills in interacting with customers and in meeting their needs ? Success working in teams and able to take initiative

Education and Qualifications

? High school degree, diploma or GED equivalent qualification from a certified college required ? Bachelor's degree, diploma or an associate's degree in retailing, merchandise management, sales and

marketing or any other related field of study from an accredited institution is a plus

About The Pear Tree Shoppe & Long Grove

Incorporated in 2007, The Pear Tree Shoppe operated successfully as a seasonal Christmas store at Northbrook Court Shopping Center. In September 2011 it will open a year-round Christmas store in the historic shopping district of Long Grove, IL.

Long Grove is a popular regional shopping and tourist destination located in Chicago's affluent north suburbs. It has a rich history, an eclectic mix of boutique shops and premier restaurants, and year-round festivals. For over 30 years The Pine Cone Christmas Shop was a Long Grove destination store. In late August 2008, Pine Cone suffered a fire and ceased operations, leaving an historic building vacant. The Pear Tree Shoppe will be located in the same building, and with the same phone number, as the former Pine Cone Shop to bring "the comforts & joy of Christmas" to new generations.
