Position OverviewThe Vice President, Human Resources is a direct report of the President & COO of Reading Truck Group. This role is a member of the senior leadership team and functions as a trusted advisor to the organization. The Vice President of Human Resources serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the executive staff, guiding all matters related to human resources for a team member population of more than 900.Responsibilities/DutiesCollaborate with corporate JBPCO Human Resources on enterprise wide human resources initiatives inclusive of medical and non-medical insurance, 401(k) and team member engagement surveysFunction as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management by driving key organizational change and management issuesEstablish and implement HR policies and initiatives that effectively communicate and support the company’s vision, mission, and desired culturePartner with executive leadership and operational management to bring independent judgment and to ensure business alignment, mutual trust and accountability, positive business results, organization effectiveness, and open communicationsDevelop HR infrastructure and strategies to support the achievement of the company’s overall business objectivesEstablish best practices and operational efficacy around talent acquisition, succession planning, retention, training and leadership development, compensation and benefits? Champion a compensation philosophy that is both market-based and performance-based to ensure that all team members are appropriately rewardedThrough direct effort and third party support, recruit top-tier talent to the company and establish a talent pipelineOversee the annual merit review process while ensuring that performance management is an ongoing processEnsure compliance with employment laws and provide policy guidance and interpretationCreate and update policies as needed; ensure governmental reporting requirementsProactively and reactively resolve employee issues; handle all EEOC mattersDevelop processes and metrics that support HR’s contribution to strong performance and the achievement of business goalsMaintain HR departmental metrics and dashboard for high-level reporting requirementsCollaborate with both the President and CFO on HR budget and benefits matterCompetencies:Establishing Focus - The ability to develop and communicate goals in support of the business’ mission; Acts to align own unit’s goals with the strategic direction of the business: ensures that people in the unit understand how their work relates to the business’ mission; ensures that everyone understands and identifies with the unit’s mission.Providing Motivational Support - The ability to enhance others’ commitment to their work; recognizes and rewards people for their achievements; acknowledges and thanks people for their contributions; expresses pride in the group and encourages people to feel good about their accomplishments; finds creative ways to make people’s work rewarding.Fostering Teamwork - As a team member, the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team; as a team leader, the ability to demonstrate interest, skill, and success in getting groups to learn to work together.Managing Change - The ability to demonstrate support for innovation and organizational changes needed to improve the overall business effectiveness; initiating, sponsoring, and implementing organizational change; helping others to successfully manage organizational change.RequirementsBS/BA from an accredited College/University; MBA/MA/PHR or SPHR preferredMinimum 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years as a direct report to a P&L accountable executive within a multi-site/multi-state organizationPrior experience in a top-level HR position within a manufacturing arena is highly desirable Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities and deadlinesProven experience with mergers/acquisitions, revenue growth, employee population growthStrong analytical, assessment, and problem solving capabilitiesExperience implementing pragmatic and business focused HR related programs and initiativesStrong relationship building and influencing skills; ability to work with leadership to gain consensus around HR strategies and tacticsDemonstrated experience in change management best practicesProven ability to attract and retain outstanding talent Ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources function through professional qualifications, experience, leadership, and highest levels of integritySuperior interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as established organizational skills are requiredProficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to travel by car, plane up to 50%Compensation A competitive compensation package including base salary, incentive bonus and benefits will be provided. ................
