Mount Olive man charged with raping child



MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- A 26-year-old Mount Olive Man was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting a child, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

Feliz Munoz, of 650 Baker Chapel Road, is charged with first-degree rape of a child.

Investigators were called to Wayne Memorial Hospital on Sunday in reference to a sexual assault. The victim is an acquaintance of Munoz, officials said.

Munoz was being held in the Wayne County jail early Tuesday on a $500,000 secured bond.

Man gets 16 years after pleading guilty to child sex assault



An illegal immigrant was sentenced to at least 16 years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child, according to a news release from the New Hanover County District Attorney's Office.

Ilver Sifuentez, also known as Elder Ramirez Valasquez, 31, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sex offense of a child.

Superior Court Judge W. Allen Cobb sentenced Sifuentez to between 16 and 24 years in the Department of Correction.

The assault of the 10-year-old girl was reported to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office on Dec. 31, 2012, the same day it occurred, said Samantha Dooies, assistant to District Attorney Ben David.

Sifuentez was detained and arrested the next morning.

In addition to the prison term, Sifuentez must register as a sex offender and be on electronic monitoring upon his release. He also faces the prospect of deportation, Dooies said.

Sifuentez is from Central America, but his exact country of origin was not known, she said.

"For an act that took 20 minutes, this defendant will now spend the next 20 years of his life in a prison cell. This was not a crime of passion but a crime of violence, and this harsh sentence reflects that reality," District Attorney Ben David said in the release.

2 Pitt County men accused of sex with 13-year-old



Two Pitt County men are charged with statutory rape for allegedly having sex with the same 13-year-old girl, investigators said.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Rodolfo Zavala-Ayala and 29-year-old Efrin Higinio Hernandez-Garcia were arrested on Thursday. Each is being jailed under a $1 million bond.

Officials with Pitt County Schools contacted the Sheriff's Office after they became suspicious of a 13-year-old student's relationship with an older man (who was not affiliated with the school system).

The 13-year-old later revealed during an interview that she had sex with two men, the Sheriff's Office said.

Hernandez-Garcia, of Greenville, has been charged with two counts of statutory rape. He denied any contact with the teen, but deputies found 23 topless photos of the victim on his phone, according to investigators. Hernandez-Garcia has also been charged with 30 counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor.

Zavala-Ayala, also of Greenville, has been charged with four counts of statutory rape even though he only admitted to having sex with the 13-year-old one time, said the Sheriff's Office. Deputies said they found photos of the teen on Zavala-Ayala's phone as well.

Raleigh man accused of sex crimes with preteen girl

RALEIGH -- Police investigators charged a 47-year-old man Monday night with kidnapping, first-degree sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child in a case involving a preteen girl whom police said he knew.

One of the charges against Fabian Ramos of 2716 Waterford Crystal Court in Raleigh ? first-degree sexual offense ? indicates that the girl was under 13 years old and that the incident involved a dangerous weapon or serious injury to the girl or being helped by one or more people.

Arrest warrants accusing Ramos state that the crimes they list happened between Sept. 15, 2013, and Sunday. Ramos was arrested after questioning at the police department's Downtown District station, which is the headquarters for sex-crime investigators, arrest records show.

The warrants list two counts of first-degree kidnapping, with each alleging Ramos "did kidnap [the girl] ... by unlawfully restraining the victim and removing the victim from one place to another, without the consent of the victim's parent or legal guardian for the purpose of facilitating the commission of a felony...."

The warrants include two counts of taking indecent liberties.

Ramos was held Tuesday night in lieu of $1.5 million bail and put on a court calendar for a first appearance on Tuesday.

Lincolnton County man charged with child sex crime



A Lincolnton man has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child.

According to police, Jose Jesus Silva Villasenor took "inappropriate sexual actions" against the child of a family friend.

The child's mother called police on Wednesday.

Villasenor, 44, of Shell Street, was arrested Wednesday and jailed under a $100,000 secured bond.

The case is still under investigation, and police say more charges are probable.

Man busted for multiple sex offenses against a minor



BANKS COUNTY, GA (WECT) - A man wanted on multiple sex charges against a minor in Wilmington was captured by US Marshals in Georgia.

According to officials, Augustin Garcia, 66, was arrested in Banks County, Georgia.

Garcia was wanted by Wilmington Police in connection to multiple sex offenses against a minor. The offenses allegedly took place during May, June, and July of 2014.

Garcia is charged with: First-degree rape (4 counts) Indecent liberties with a minor (4 counts) Incest with a child under 13 (4 counts) Crimes against nature (4 counts)

Garcia is currently in the Banks County Sheriff's Detention Facility and is expected to be extradited back to New Hanover County soon.

Artemio Garcia Masias was booked into the Rowan Detention Center just before 10 pm on Friday night.
