INVITATION FOR BIDS

IFB NO. 17-6774-1

Elkhardt School Demolition Project

Sealed bids will be received and opened by the School Board of the City of Richmond, Virginia at the Division of Purchasing, 2395 Hermitage Road, Vatex Building, Richmond, Virginia 23220 until 2:30 p.m., local prevailing time, Tuesday, March 1, 2017, for Elkhardt School Demolition.

Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:30 p.m., local prevailing time, on Wednesday, March 2, 2017 at the same time.

Bidding documents (pre-printed plans, drawings and specifications) are attached and accessible from RPS’ website at . Bidders are advised to access the website for any additional information regarding this IFB, prior to the submission of their bid. The cut off for pre-bid questions will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 3:30 pm.

All Pre-Qualified Class A General Construction Contractors desiring to submit a bid must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Procurement Office, 2395 Hermitage Rd, Vatex Bldg., Richmond, VA 23220.

All Pre-Qualified Class A General Construction Contractors must obtain a copy of the General Conditions of the Contract for Construction and Exhibits from RPS’ website listed above.

Bids over $40,000.00 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond equal to one hundred (100%) of the contract amount and certificate of insurance as required.

The Minority Business/Participation Commitment Form” and a completed “Contractors Employment Profile” as included in the Specifications are to be filled out and turned in as part of the contractor’s bid.

If awarded the contract, the Contractor must submit Exhibit I (Certification of Crimes Against Children) and Exhibit II (Certification of Interest & Relationships with School Board and Richmond Public Schools Employees).

Richmond Public Schools reserves the right to waive all informalities, and be the sole judge of the evaluation process and reject any and all bids. Further, Richmond Public Schools reserves the right to award this bid in part or in whole, whichever deemed to be in its best interest.

The Contractor certifies that is does not, and shall not during the performance of this Contract, knowingly employ an unauthorized alien as defined in the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA REGISTRATION: Pursuant to Code of Virginia §2.2-4311.2 as amended, the Contractor warrants that it is authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth of Virginia if so required by Title 13.1 or Title 50 or as otherwise required by law, and agrees to maintain such authorization during the performance of this Contract. Vendor must submit appropriate documentation with their bid, if required.
