PASTORS NOTES: I am happy to announce that Micky Rasmussen has accepted the new position of Religious Education/Adult Education Coordinator. He will begin on Tuesday, August 11th. Welcome aboard Micky!

On August 14th the Parish Office will be closed. Mary and I will be in Sioux Falls for the Legacy Event celebrating the 125th anniversay of the beginning of the Diocese. I will be leaving sometime after Mass on that Friday.

If you are going to the Legacy Event in Sioux Falls, we are in need of people or families to carry the Parish and School Banners in the procession. There are four banners to be carried in. It would be for both the opening and closing Masses. The opening Mass is August 14th at 7 pm and the closing Mass is August 16 at 10:45 am. If you are interested please let me know and you will receive an email with the necesary information from the Diocse.

A reminder that School regristration is August 12th in the School Atrium and School starts August 19th.

FALL FESTIVAL: Before you know it, it will be time for our annual Fall Festival. If you would be willing to chair or co-chair this event, please call the church office at 624-4478.

CHURCH MUSIC DIRECTOR - NEW POSITION: St. Agnes Church has an opening for a 1/4 time music director. This individual will be responsible for all music at St. Agnes Church, including, but not limited to: organizing and directing the adult choir, coordinating a children's choir, coordinating/organizing a youth choir, coordinating and assigning cantors and accompanists for weekend masses, and other aspects of liturgical music that may occur. This is a 9-12 month paid position. Contact the Parish Office for an application and more information. Deadline for application is August 10th.

CHURCH CHOIR ACCOMPANIST - NEW POSITION: St. Agnes Church is looking for an accompanist for the adult choir. This individual should be accomplished on at least an electric piano and hopefully on the organ. The Commitment will be for 3 of the 4 (or 4 of the 5) Sundays each month (probably for 9 months) starting in early September - about 2 hours a week. A stipend is available. Contact the Parish Office for an application and more information.

ALTAR SOCIETY: will meet after the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 16th in the Parish Hall. Chairs are asked to bring their list. All members are invited!

MARLEY HANSON'S SEND OFF PARTY/TRUNK SHOW: Sunday, August 16, 2015 @ 5:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Marley Hanson, Miss South Dakota Teen USA State titleholder, would like to invite everyone to come and get a sneak peak of her competition and everyday wardrobe for Miss Teen USA, get a chance to ask her a personal interview questions, and send her your best wishes. Marley Hanson, daughter of Marlon and Pam Hanson, will be competing against the other 49 state titleholders on Saturday, Aug. 22 in Nassau, Bahamas for the coveted Miss Teen USA

BISHOPS CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC: The 21st Annual Bishops Charity Golf Classic is scheduled for Sunday and Monday, August 30th & 31st. The Sunday night "Broom Tree Banquet" will be held at the Ramkota in Sioux Falls beginning at 5:00 p.m. with social and silent auction. On Monday, there will be two simultaneous golf tournaments-"The Bishop's Scramble," and "The Bishop's cup"-which will be held at The Country Club of Sioux Falls and Minnehaha Country Club with a shotgun start at noon. This is a great time for Catholics from around the diocese to gather for fun, fellowship, and to show their support and learn more about the retreat ministry at Broom Tree. General Assembly at 5:30 p.m.

Registration will take place in the classrooms and the new addition.  You can register (set-up tuition payments, meet the teacher, buy lunch tickets, and sign-up for Red & Gold).  The assembly will include information about: fundraisers, PTSA, the certificate program, and school uniforms.

It’s time to register!

Please help us in planning all the logistics for the event by registering as soon as possible. Registering ahead of time will ensure you don’t have to wait in line at the event! Go to legacy for all the details!

Calling all Reunion Groups! Have you ever participated in Search, Marriage Encounter, Tech, Cursillo, D-Camps, Charismatic Renewal or any other retreats where friendships were made? Visit the LEGACY Reunion Hall Friday night from 4 - 7 pm to find and rekindle long-lost friendships. Post messages, photos or requests for phone numbers on the message board and share a blast from the past with your forever friends.

Scholarships are Available for anyone who cannot afford the event fees. Please email 125Events@ and we will help you register. Nobody will be turned away because of costs! But we need to have you register. ALL are welcome!
