Robert C. King

Robert King is the Director of the Systems Integration Office within the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer. In this role, Rob develops the data management and IT systems' strategy and sustainment plans across multiple business intelligence and analytics applications. As part of the larger DHS Unity of Effort initiative, Rob's work is focused on the data sets supporting integration and enterprise-wide asset and logistics portfolio management for mission support valued at more than $45 billion. Rob leads modernization and consolidation efforts to ensure the Department's enterprise IT systems' footprint drives significant costs savings, efficiencies, and internal controls. He is a representative on numerous DHS Management (MGMT) Directorate executive steering committees as a subject matter expert on enterprise systems modernization, business intelligence, and management services.

Prior to joining DHS in 2011, Rob spent 10 years as an IT systems architect, implementer, and integrator serving numerous cabinet-level agencies and Fortune 500 companies. During this time, he specialized in maturing software applications and integrating business processes across disparate functions to achieve strategic objectives for his customers.

Rob holds a bachelor degree from Stockton State College of New Jersey and a master's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School's Center of Homeland Security & Defense. His thesis studied the alignment of technology to the culture, policies, processes and reward systems within the Department of Homeland Security and is titled "DHS's Pursuit of Data Driven Decision-Making." He holds multiple professional certifications, including PMP and ITIL, and is a graduate of the DHS Under Secretary of Management's Next Gen Leadership program.
