Born 22 Feb 1885; died 26 Nov 1970 age 85 of 1605 W Dunham Street. He died at 6:30 p.m. after a short illness at St Joseph Hospital. Mrs Fisher was a retired baker, and had lived here for 60 years. Burial in St Joseph Cemetery. He married Mary Tajkowski who died in 1959.

Surviving children of this marriage: Clement Podolak of St Joseph Mich, Helen, John Podolak Jr, Mrs Cecylia Zernick and Mrs Evlyn George. Stepchildren [by Podolak's first wife] Mrs Mary Sieradzki Stawska; Mrs Violet Przybylski [N CHGED TO PIERSON] Mrs Frances Kruszewski, Mrs Carrie Walters & Stanley Podolak. kiewicz Gatzka who both lived in Davenport Fla;died 11 Feb 1997 age 70 in her home on Earl Road in Michigan City at 4:45 a.m after an extended illness. Patricia had lived in Michigan City since 1987 & was a legal secretary for 13 year at Winston & Strawn, Attorneys at Law, Chicago Ill. Services at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, and burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City IN. On 19 Dec 1987 in Michigan City she married Jeffrey L Fisher who survives with 2 daughters, Mrs Kimberly [Stanley] Clark of North Liberty; Mrs Kathleen M [Gregory] Workman of Michigan City; one son, Benjamin MILCAREK of Lansing MI; a sister, Mrs Sue Ann [Steve] Fritz of Marco Island Fla; three grandchildren; Ariel Clark, Ashley Clark and Corey Workman. A Sister, Mary Gatzka preceded her in death in 1943.

Survivors are two sons, Zeal Fisher of SBd, Dr Barry Fisher of Las Vegas Nev; and one brother, Lester Ehrlichman of Los Angeles CA.

Born 17 Apr 1873 Poland; Obit translated from Goniec Polski - Jul 1955 of 505 S Brookfield, died unexpectedly at 3:30 p.m. in his residence. Former employee at Singers Mfg Co and was retired for three years. Serivces At St Adalbert's Catholic Church; burial in St Joseph Cemetery. In 1905 he married Joanna Nowakowski who survives with three daughters, Mrs Alice Brambert, Mrs Henrietta Korpal, both of South Bend, Mrs Irene Peters of Chicago. Also surviving are 2 brothers, "Waclawa" & Joseph, both of South Bend, 2 sisters living in Poland, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Born 10 Dec 1895 Poland, she came to America in 1910;died 17 Dec 1934, age 39 of 1125 S Lagayette. Bessie had been ill for 8 weeks. Services at Sons of Israel Congregation; burial Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery. Surviving are a daughter Sylvia and a son, Arthur Major; four sisters, Ruth Fishman, Mrs Rose [Benjamin] Yashun, Mrs S Gross of Chicago, Mrs B H Kaplan of Michigan City IN; and three brothers; Morris Fishman, M W Fishman of Cleveland OH, and Dr Louis P Fishman of Mishawaka.

He retired in 1975 as a precision grinder at Bendix Corp after 30 yrs. Services St Bavo's Catholic Church, burial in Highland Cemetery. On 24 Aug 1940 he married Margaret VanAutrave who died 15 Dec 1976. On 1 Apr 1978 in So Bend he married Louise Tyler who survives with four sons: Donald of SBd, Michael of Indianapolis, Richard of Ft Wayne and Joseph of Elkhart; a stepdaughter, Mrs Mary Lou Szarwark of Elkhart, two stepsons, Robert VanDeVeire of Canton Mich and Charles VanDeVeire of SBd, 15 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs Winifred Hunter of Warsaw and Mrs Goldie Hoke of SBd.

As Helen Repczynski she was married on 8 Oct 1923 to Casimir Fiwek who died on 19 Sept 1962. She is survived by a son, Clement Fiwek, a daughter, Mrs Sophie Sniadecki, four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs Lottie Hazinski of South Bend ; and

Mrs Hattie Hosinski of Houston TX.

Services at Little Flower Catholic Church, buried at St Joseph Church. Services at St Adalbert's Catholic Church, burial in St Joseph Cemetery. On 21May 1930 in Poland she married Henryk Flemming who died 17 Aug 1944. She was a former employee at Notre Dame U. Born 25 Jan 1900 in So Bend and lived here all his life: died 15 Jul 1981 age 81 of 2401 Miami at 1:15 a.m. at St Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka after a brief illness. He was retired from the So Bend Fire Dept and Wyman's Department Store. He was a WW I Veteran. Services held t St Stephen's Catholic Church, burial at St Joseph Cemetery. In 1943 he married Martha Kajzer whodied in 1973. He is survived by a son Ralph and 6 grand children

Born 27 Apr 1912 in Michigan City IN; died 24 Sept 1979 at the LaPorte Hospital. She lived in New Carlisle IN. On 26 Aug 1939 in Michigan City she married Frank who survives with a daughter, Mrs Judith [Thomas] Grabarek

She retired from Michiana Commuity Hospital after 30 years as a nurse in the obstetrics Dept. Services at St Joseph Catholic Church; burial at Eagle River Cemetery, Eagle River Wisc. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs Dawn [James] Cytacki of South Bend , a granddaughter, Amber Cytacki & a nephew Douglas

F Breit of Eagle River Wis. She was preceded in death by her grandson Adam Cytacki in 1994 & 2 sisters, Mrs Donna Jean Mocere of Lansing MI & Mrs Helen Knauer of Eagle River Wisc.

She retired in Jun 1981 from Notre Dame U where she had been employed for 25 years. Services in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church; burila in St Joseph Cemetery. On 2 Oct 1943 as Virginia D Jamrozy she married Edward Frankiewicz who preceded her in death. Surving are a son Jordon of SBd, 2 grandsons; 6 sisters: Mrs Mary Dollie, Mrs Blanche Sommer, Mrs Cecelia Niezgodski, Mrs Alice Luczkowski, Mrs Lucy Acrey and Mrs Laura Weber and a brother Walter Jamrozy, all of South Bend .

FRANCKOWIAK, LUCIEN S

Born 23 Apr 1903 St Paul MN; died 17 Jan 1984, age 79 of Fountainview Place, Mishawaka at 1 p.m. having been ill for several months. He was the President of the former Franckowiak's Furs Inc, retiring in 1972 after 50 years. The firm was founded in 1911 by his father Charles Franckowiak at 203 N Main. In 1926 he moved to 314 N Michigan. On 30 Jun 1936 he married Rose Manuszak who died 31 Oct 1971. Survivors include a sister, Mrs Helen Elliott, a nephew Dr Charles H of Waterford MI, Thomas M Elliott of Harland Wisc and a brother, L Chester.

**Per phone conversations with Lucien;

His great great grandfather was Sebastian [Mateusz] Franckowiak who was a fur craftsman. His grandfather, Antoni Franckowiak came from Poznan Poland, 20 miles s. of Bonien, with a brother and his father. They went to Winnipeg Canada. the father & brother traveled to Ottawa Canada. His grandfather Antoni had 3 sisters: Hedwig,

Franciska and Joanus. His mother died 23 Apr 1904. Lucien's mother's surname was Froelich; maternal grandmother was Mary Sobota who came from Cierocrieca Poznan Poland.
