Curriculum Vitae – MARCO BANI

Personal Statement

I have been interested in Computer Science and History from a very early age, and have acquired in-depth knowledge in many areas.

In addition to my formal university studies, which were focused upon the field of Humanities Computing, I have also gained work experience in various areas such as teaching, programming, web design, and storytelling. In addition, my time as a Web Content Manager at UISP, a major Italian Sports Society, has also given me invaluable experience in Knowledge Management and web content development.

While postgraduate Erasmus student at King’s College London, I proposed, and actively facilitated the creation of a collaboration on digital cultural heritage between University of Pisa and King’s College London. The two institutions now jointly teach 3-dimensional digital modelling modules, and are developing a series of heritage project proposals. During the academic session 2007-08, I taught a series of 10 lab sessions at King’s College London for students with little or no prior experience of 3D digital modelling and enabling them to acquire the skills necessary to carry out visualisations in the Arts, Humanities and Cultural Heritage domains.

I am actively involved in politics. I was recently successful in the elections for City Counsellorship for Pisa.

I have the ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually. I have extensive international travelling and working experience, as well as proven effective written and oral communication skills.
