Hosting our friends from IHN Sunday, April 28, 2019 - Sunday, May 12, 2019 ZPCers have an opportunity to serve homeless children and their caregivers through Family Promise's Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN). ZPC will host families for 2 weeks beginning April 28. Volunteers are needed for setting up and tearing down bedrooms; cooking and serving meals; staying overnight with families; and providing transportation to and from the day center. Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019

Scripture: John 20:1-18

The defeated cross on our chancel this morning is important imagery in our faith. It represents the two-part story of (as Paul says in Romans 4:25) Jesus being delivered over to death for our sins and Jesus being raised to life for our justification. As Eugene Peterson puts it, "the sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God." The joy of Easter simply wouldn't exist without the defeat of Good Friday. We celebrate both this morning.

Prayer after service: If you would like someone to pray with or for you, please go to the west alcove in the Sanctuary after the service. It would be our privilege to pray on your behalf.

Assistive listening systems are available upon request. Check in with the sound booth at the back of the Sanctuary.

Nominations are being accepted for Elder and Deacon positions. Needed are four Elders and eight Deacons who will serve through December 2022. You may nominate anyone who is a current active member of ZPC, including yourself.
