Scope Note

The following material concerns selected speeches requested under the Freedom of Information

Act (FOIA) by various researchers. This guide lists all of the open material about particular

speeches in the chronological order the speeches were given.

As of June 4, 2009, the Library has opened for research use the entire collection of Speech Drafts

and the entire collection of Speech Research. The White House Office of Records Management

Subject File for speeches (SP) is also completely open for research. Speeches should be

accessed via these collection inventories rather than by individual speeches.
