In this vein I am delighted to also announce Aaron Carey as our youth artist in residence on a bursary in the name of much missed Ballymun artist John Duffy. Arts & Disability

Ireland With the help of the Arts & Disability Ireland we are broadening our services to cater for visitors with access requirements, visually impaired and disabled visitors.

We can cater for up to 8 wheelchair users in our auditorium. These spaces are located at the front of the autitorium and are in clear view of the stage.

There is also an accesible toilet located in our caf? bar and lifts available within our building.

THE UNDERGROUND SESSIONS EXHIBITION

Presented by Ballymun Communications September

This installation showcases some of the live music from the Underground Sessions presented through both audio and visual imagery. The Underground Sessions is a platform for unsigned Irish artists in both music and the arts, showcasing singer songwriters, bands, poets, writers etc. The guests are invited in to do two performances followed by a short interview. Filming takes place in the Underground studios in axis and the show goes out on Fridays on both YouTube and Facebook. The crew who work The Underground Sessions are creatively driven with a passion for music and the arts and do so voluntarily, giving their time as part of an enthusiastic team.

This colourful, fast-paced all singing and dancing show is a fun and gentle re-telling of the classic fairy-tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood is adventuring through the woods to visit her Granny, but somewhere along the way the Silly Billy Wolf is waiting.

Children will have great fun joining in on the action, singing songs and playing games and meeting some amazing characters in this original show, written especially for this touring spectacular. Find out why Granny is the coolest Granny in the world. Play games with Granny's Crazy Cat! Meet the Lumberjack Bear. With beautiful costumes, stunning stage sets and hilarious characters, making this a fun-packed show not to be missed.

Crash Test Caint is a monthly evening of craic, chat, comedy, music all as Gaeilge. Is cuma mas bhfuil t? l?ofa n? muna bhfuil focail ar bith agat, t? fa?lte romhat. MUSIC

The STAR project have offered drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Ballymun as well as surrounding areas since 1998. More recently, they have also offered a Family Support Service. To celebrate the work the project does in the community, local music legends Dextra are performing a one-off special celebration gig in the Axis Theatre. Dextra are a high energy driven band who excel in the live environment, playing an Indie Pop/ Rock mix of music. Local band Maul Park will be in support on the night as will the STAR vocal group. This promises to be a great night of music and celebration with everyone connected to the project both past and present, as well as lovers of great live music.
