RPS accreditation provides the mark of excellence for organisations or individuals developing high quality education and training programmes, resources and initiatives. Types of RPS Foundation AccreditationThere are 3 types of Foundation Accreditation:Resources mapped to the Foundation Pharmacy FrameworkFoundation Training ProvidersFoundation SchoolsFoundation Schools are a subset of Foundation Training ProvidersRPS Foundation Programme “training providers”. An accredited RPS Foundation Programme provider delivers education and training mapped to the RPS Foundation Programme. Such providers support and develop foundation pharmacists to the RPS standards.Where applicable, Foundation providers are recommended to work in partnership with employers and RPS Foundation Schools to benefit Foundation pharmacists and ensure standards are met. An employer can be accredited as a Provider, by meeting RPS Foundation Programme training provider standards and, where further support is required to meet the requirements for assessment, are encouraged to work in partnership with other accredited providers or RPS Foundation Schools. Conversely, employers (who are not in a formal partnership with a RPS Foundation School) may work with accredited RPS Foundation Training providers, to deliver development experiences mapped to the RPS standards for the Foundation Programme. Accreditation of Foundation SchoolsResponsible for accreditation of work places employing Foundation PractitionersResponsible for accreditation and recognition of tutors supporting Foundation PractitionersResponsible for awarding statements of completion of Foundation TrainingRPS Foundation Schools. Accredited RPS Foundation Schools will work in partnership with employers to provide quality assured workplace education and training infrastructures, provide tutor training, provide assessments based on competency and performance, and provide a quality assured award demonstrating it is meeting RPS standards for Foundation Programme. Employers who are part of formalised partnerships with education providers, and who meet these standards, will be included in the recognition for RPS Foundation School. The RPS Faculty Accreditation Panel will set the standards and methods for Foundation training provided by RPS accredited providers (whether RPS Foundation Schools or RPS Foundation Training Providers), ensure parity between accreditation processes of both Schools and Providers, and will ratify the award of accreditation. 203454024765Accreditation of training resources and development materials, and events, mapped to the Foundation Pharmacy Framework (FPF)Accreditation of training resources and development materials, and events, mapped to the Foundation Pharmacy Framework (FPF)RPS Foundation accreditation assures pharmacists that the training and development materials, and events: Contribute to their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) during their Foundation yearsContribute to supporting them in delivering excellent pharmacy practice and patient care?Supports them with their wider professional development, including professional development as part of their RPS Foundation portfolioExamples:Training Events e.g. congresses, seminars, workshops.Published materials e.g. journal articles, education and editorial contentShort courses that support Foundation pharmacists1775460244475Accreditation of programmes that support pharmacists throughout their Foundation TrainingAccreditation of programmes that support pharmacists throughout their Foundation Training91440031305500Who can apply? Our accreditation service is for organisations or individuals who have developed and provide resources and initiatives to support workforce development in pharmacy.
