News

Use the News tool to read instructor messages, course information, and other news updates. News items appear in the News widget in the right column of the course home page. You can also receive instant notifications about postings through SMS and RSS feeds.

News

Display additional News items by clicking on "Show All News Items."

View course News from the Course Home page. At the right of the screen, look for the "News" widget. The most recent news postings will appear at the top of the list.

Go to News, RSS, and Notifications

You can view all News items by choosing "Go to News."

You can subscribe to a News RSS feed and receive daily updates of all news items in an RSS reader. This allows you to access an aggregate of news items without logging into the Learning Environment.

You can set notifications to receive instant notifications on your cell phone about course activity, such as grades, new discussion posts, upcoming quizzes, assignment due dates, and news items.

Click the "X" for any news item you want to dismiss. The news item will no longer display in the News widget.

Go to News

Click on "Go to News Tool" to view all of your news items including those you have dismissed.

Restore News

To restore a dismissed News item so it will display in the News widget, click the arrow icon next to the news item, and choose Restore.

RSS Feeds

To set up an RSS feed, click "RSS" from the News dropdown menu.

Read the information then click on the Subscribe button.

RSS Feeds

You will be notified that you have successfully subscribed to the feed. Click the "View my feeds" link.

Go to your browser (in this illustration, Internet Explorer) and click on the Favorites tab and choose the Feeds tab. Click on the link with your course name to view the News feeds.
