902665354On the 8th May 1945 Winston Churchill announced that WW2 had ended in Europe. This was an important day because it marked the end of the war and meant that many people could return home, not just soldiers this included children who were evacuated to live in the countryside away from their parents so that they could be safe. WW2 had a tremendous impact on all the people of the World, their daily lives and their environments had drastically changed for 4 whole years!The war was fought between the Allies ( Britain, USA, Russia and France) and the Axis powers ( Germany (The Nazis), Japan and Italy). At the end of WW2 in 1945 The Axis powers had occupied (invaded) France and much of Europe. It wasn’t until D-day when the Allies had successfully Freed France that the 4 year long war seemed to end. When it finally ended on VE day it was a huge relief and celebration for all!Task: Create a Non-Chronological Report about VE dayRemember it is only a short amount of work each day, you should not be doing it all in one sitting. Day 3: Students have to write up their paragraphs using the factsorganised in the previous lesson. They don’t have to use all of the facts they have but they do have to consider which conjunctions they will use to link them. Day 4: Once they have finished they can start to check their work for spelling and punctuation, Then they can top copy it to the sheet provided or make their own!.
