Great Cypress Village board meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Secretary Beyer called the role of board members. Present were: Zebbie Probst, Daniel Hamilton, Catherine Beyer, Barb LaFountain, Adriana Pryun and Beverly True. Absent was Nancy Colacicco.There were no September minutes read because of Hurricane Irma.Treasurer Barbara LaFountain read the financial report for August 31, 2017. The operating account had a balance of $13,393.62. The reserve account had a balance of 113,831.72. The total of accounts was $127,225.34. A motion was made by Beverly True and seconded by Dan Hamilton to accept the financial report as read. The report was approved.The following are the committee reports:ARCHITECTURAL - Members are Zebbie Probst, Jack Fair and Ed LaFountain. Mr. Fair wanted to know if committee members have the right to go to the house with a minor violation to ask that it be fixed. Zebbie said yes but a paper report should also be written up and addressed to the board. This way the board will have a paper trail to follow up on results.SOCIAL CLUB - Tom Thompson spoke of the upcoming breakfast on Oct 21 and their will be a free breakfast on Nov. 11 to celebrate Veterans Day. There will be a soup supper at 6:00 pm before the GCV board meeting November 13, 2017 at 7:00 pm. On November 15th pizza will be served for all who volunteer to clean the clubhouse. There will be a Thanksgiving Day dinner on November 23, 2017. November 25, 2017 will be the day for Holiday decoration set up at 10 am. Coffee and donuts will be served. Finally, on December 9, 2017 a dinner/dance will be $12.50 person beginning at 5:30 pm.RV - Jack Fair stated there are still areas that are not being maintained by the users of the filled spots. Discussion of certain new items in area determined that users must let Jack know when items are placed in RV area.WELCOMING - NO REPORTDOCUMENTS - NO REPORTELECTION - NO REPORTTRUSTEES - Audit was done and found ok.REAL ESTATE REP - Dan Hamilton gave no new information regarding homes for sale. Discussion was held regarding liens on past properties and if we were able to receive monies from sales of properties. Zebbie asked for permission to contact our park attorney about the lien status. Catherine Beyer made a motion to give permission to Zebbie Probst to contact our park attorney to check on lien status. The motion was seconded by Beverly True and it was unanimously approved.OLD BUSINESS:POSSIBLE PURCHASE OF METAL STORM SHUTTERS FOR CLUBHOUSE WINDOWS. Zebbie said he looked into the cost for metal shutters/tracks. Estimated around $4559 w/o hoods over exposed roll up areas which would be an additional $378 each. A vote was tabled until more information could be provided at our next meeting on November 13, 2017.GENERATOR PURCHASE - The possible window shutters and generator would be considered a capital improvement.“SAFETY ZONE” IS AN APPROPRIATE TERM FOR USE OF CLUBHOUSE DURING STORMS. Zebbie also stated it is NOT necessary to include the surrounding general public in our park clubhouse during the same time period. Discussion was held as to whether or not to supply water and food to residents using the clubhouse or have them bring their own. GCV LICENSE PLATES - The Social Club will consider have front license plates made up at a cost of $15 each to help generate income for the club functions.SPEED LIMIT ENFORCEMENT - 20mph speed limit is not being adhered to. Contact the violators…..RV enforce maintenance of keeping used areas clean of tall grass and weeds and garbage debris.FERAL CAT population addressed. Trap them and bring to PAWS for spay/neutering. Cost of $10 to be reimbursed.NEW BUSINESS:TREE REPLACEMENT - The board determined that only trees that would be replaced for June Stevens and Gloria Perkins and that all palms in common areas would be trimmed. Also the dead tree in front of Barbara LaFountain’s home would be removed.50th wedding anniversary will be celebrated by:Jim/Nancy ColociccoJim/Nancy LaFountainLarry/Barb FrasierSkip/Andrea PopeENFORCEMENT OF RULES - ALL park residents are expected to enforce bylaw rules when they see them violated. Deb Probst said Zebbie does not have to be made the bad guy to enforce these rules.SOCIAL CLUB - Social club will purchase some new pool lounge chairs and pads.Dan Hamilton said the outlay of large money items should be addressed in the next budget when possible. All agreed.A color still must be chosen to paint the inside of the clubhouse. The board will do so at a later date.The next GCV board meeting will be November 13, 2017 at 7:00 pm.Catherine Beyer made a motion to adjourn the meeting with a second by Adrianna Pryun. The motion was approved and the meeting adjourned at 8:33 pm. ................
