? Works to fulfill LSRCA's Strategic Plan Goal #3 priority to expand the demographic and geographic reach of the Education program across the watershed in 5 years

? Existing program offered by TRCA and York Region Early Intervention Services offered at a variety of locations throughout the GTA

? An opportunity to reduce the barriers between children and quality outdoor experiences.

What is Therapy in the Woods?

A program designed to provide children with special needs and their families an opportunity to meet their therapeutic goals while engaging them in outdoor environmental education programming.

The Pilot

? Five week session in fall 2017 at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area

? Wednesday mornings 9:30 am to 11:00 am

? Participants recruited from Bradford, Innisfil and Barrie by RVH staff

? Nominal fee of $15 per participant ? Awarded $1K in support from LSCF for

specific equipment and materials ? Fully registered with 15 participants

and their families
