Members of an Aetna health insurance plan can begin to lower their prescription costs simply by presenting their Aetna medical ID cards to participating pharmacies at the time of purchase.

Instead of paying full price for prescription medications, members may pay a preferred rate (a discounted amount) to participating pharmacies.

s Locate the nearest participating Aetna Rx Discount Network Pharmacy Card retail pharmacy. To find a participating pharmacy: > Use our DocFind? directory, available through our website at . > Call the Aetna Member Services toll-free number on your Aetna medical ID card. > Ask your current retail pharmacist if his or her pharmacy participates in the program.

s When you are filling a new prescription, present your Aetna medical ID card to the pharmacist along with your prescription form. If you previously participated in another discount prescription program, make sure your pharmacist has the correct information about you and your covered dependents, including accurate dates of birth.

s Pay the amount of Aetna's negotiated discount for the prescription directly to the pharmacy.
