Message from the Honorable Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province

Message from the Honorable Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province

I am pleased very much to extend my appreciation to the ¡°Sabaragamuwa Provincial Statistical

Pocket Book- 2020¡±.

It is great honor to mention here that Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council has constantly committed to

bring a total advancement of development fields comprising economic, social, health and education in line

with the policy statement ¡° Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor¡± presented by His Excellency and President of

the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksha. In order to make this effort more

productive it is a prerequisite to maintain an updated data base covering all the development fields. Since the

accurate and analytical data base is a basement of the successive development process, I am very much

confident this publication would be more significant. On the other hand, this type of data base will be very

beneficial to identification of development potential and priorities in ensuring the equity of development

benefits among the community. This will ensure the contribution of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council in a

more professional manner towards the creation of a ¡°A Safe Land - Prosperous Country¡± as expectation of

His Excellency the President.

I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to the staff of the Office of the Deputy Chief Secretary

(Planning) those who accomplished this effort in a successive manner.
