Applications to Sit for the Aptitude Test for BA (Hons) in Translation Studies (Sinhala /English)

Applications are invited for the above aptitude test which is to be held at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, from the candidates who possess the minimum requirements for university admission as specified under section 2.2.8.27 of the Handbook on `Admission to Undergraduate Courses of the Universities in Sri Lanka for Academic Year 2020/2021' issued by the University Grants Commission.

Applicants are required to apply, sit, and pass the aptitude test mentioned herein, if they wish to be considered for admission to the respective course.

The Department of Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has introduced the study programme, BA (Hons) in Translation Studies (Sinhala/ English) to equip the undergraduates with both theoretical and practical knowledge on Translation. This is a four-year professional degree introduced as part of the overall strategic initiative to cater to the national needs of Sri Lanka. Throughout the programme, priority will be given to implement the National Tri-Lingual Policy.

The applicants who have sat for the G.C.E (A/L) examination in 2021 in any of the subject streams are eligible to sit for the abovementioned aptitude test. The purpose of the aptitude test is to select a group of students with language (Sinhala and English) proficiency for the fouryear degree programme.

Interested applicants are requested to submit their applications for the Aptitude Test via online

) available on the university website sab.ac.lk on or before 24th September 2022. You should upload clearly scanned copies of the following documents

along with the online application.

A paying-in-voucher (obtained from the university website) along with the bank slip for Rs. 1200/- drawn in favour of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Account No. 0002246976 - Bank of Ceylon, (Cheques & Postal / Money Orders will not be accepted)

 An affidavit, in case of any discrepancy between the details in the application and the certificates

Applications sent by post will be rejected.

The date, time, and venue of the aptitude test will be informed in due course and the downloadable admission card will be sent to the eligible candidates through the online application portal.
