|TITLE: Product Owner – Project Management and Monitoring System |

|ROLE PURPOSE: |

| |

|We are currently designing and developing an online Project Management System (PRIME - Programme Reporting, Information Management and |

|Evidence) to be used globally across Save the Children offices. It will be Save the Children’s core business system for managing our |

|beneficiary-facing projects. It will comprise: |

|End-to-end Project Management functionality, |

|Monitoring, evaluation and accountability tools, |

|Business Intelligence tools, including management dashboards and reporting. |

| |

|The post holder will be part of the PPM PRIME project team during the development and deployment of PRIME (2018 – 2021), and thereafter part |

|of the Project Management function, in the International Programmes department. |

| |

|The role will: |

|Be the Product Owner for PRIME |

|Lead the strategy and management of future developments of PRIME in accordance with the relevant governance bodies, IT strategy, evolving |

|business practices and stakeholder priorities in order to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness of the PRIME system |

|Provide leadership and business expertise for the interaction of PRIME with key business processes and inform the design of PRIME with our |

|Award Management System (AMS), Financial System (Agresso) and other Save the Children IT solutions |

|SCOPE OF ROLE: |

| |

|Reports to: Senior Project Manager – PPM PRIME (Until the Senior Project Manager is phasing out, and then the role with report to the Project|

|Lead) |

| |

|Role Dimensions: The Product Owner of PRIME represents the business needs of all offices in the Save the Children Association (SCA), which is|

|made up of Save the Children International (SCI); organised into a global HQ, 7 regional offices, a network of approximately 50 country |

|offices and field programmes based in the local communities, and 27 Member organisations with offices across 5 continents. Approximately |

|11,000 system users are based across 120 countries. |

|KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: |

| |

|System Design, Development and On-going enhancement |

|Perform the role of Product Owner in the Agile Scrum development process of PRIME; understand the business requirements for PRIME, own the |

|product backlog, attend all Sprint meetings, sign-off product delivery in the definition of “done”. |

|Own the business design of the system interfaces with other systems, working alongside solution architects for technical design. |

|Lead the gathering, design and prioritisation of system enhancements to meet the needs of the organisation and align with project management |

|processes, ensuring sufficient business input and co-ordinating this from across Members and SCI; act as focal point for PRIME vendor to |

|influence product roadmap. |

|Play a significant role in system enhancement projects, working closely with IT by forming strong relationships, leading Business Analysts |

|and Project Managers to achieve smooth implementation of such enhancements. |

|Take responsibility for system business testing; preparing test scripts, planning and coordinating testing (including user acceptance |

|testing) and confirming results. |

| |

|Strategy and Governance: |

|Ensure that the organization maximises PRIME through alignment to global, regional and country strategies, and facilitating accurate and |

|business appropriate reports to inform management decisions. |

|Work with focal points and business leads of other systems to ensure seamless integration of data to achieve efficiencies across the |

|organisation’s data management. |

|Work closely with the PPM Technical Lead and PPM PRIME L&D Lead to ensure alignment across Save the Children’s Project Management & MEAL |

|methodology, system and training. |

|Attend weekly Change Advisory Board meetings as PRIME representative. |

| |

|System Support and Training |

|Be the subject matter expert on the PRIME system for the Save the Children Association. |

|Act as a focal point for the PRIME system and associated processes for key stakeholders. |

|Interact with a network of system administrators, IT support staff and super users based globally providing 1st line system support, ensuring|

|that materials (including manuals, FAQs, etc) are maintained and shared effectively. |

|Work closely with the Application Support Team Leader for PRIME to ensure that all system bugs, issues and problems are resolved in a timely |

|manner and have minimal business impact, helping to identify workarounds where necessary. |

|Ensure that IT support functions are provided with appropriate guidance and business process information to effectively support end users. |

|Ensure PRIME System end user training materials, training databases and e-learning course content is kept up to date and is accessible. |

|Coordinate delivery of and deliver training to system administrators, IT support staff, super users and end users of PRIME. |

| |

|Other Responsibilities |

|Align with and influence other key priority projects to ensure PRIME strategy and information is fit for purpose for SCA. |

|Be available for deployment to rapid onset Cat 1 humanitarian responses to support in the implementation of PRIME for immediate use. |

|Other duties as requested by line manager in relation to PRIME. |

|QUALIFICATIONS |

|Bachelors or higher degree in International Development, Project Management, IT or other relevant subject |

|EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: |

|Essential: |

|Experience of being a Product Owner |

|Experience of working in an Agile Scrum IT project |

|Experience in the deployment of IT systems, in particular to field offices in developing countries |

|Demonstrable analytical and systems thinking skills |

|Experience in the design and delivery of face to face and online trainings |

|Highly developed interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching |

|Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex issues to both staff and peers |

|Excellent project management and prioritisation skills |

|Ability to manage a complex and varied workload; to work effectively under pressure; and to organise and prioritise work to ensure |
