The TLP is an evidence-based, protocol driven behavioral weight loss program for youth with Type 2 diabetes children, youth, adolescents and their families.Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Saint Louis University and Washington University School of Medicine with families and youth randomly assigned to the TLP arm of the TODAY study Continuous consultation with youth and their family with Type 2 diabetes toward achieving study-specific weight loss behavior change goals in a step-wise fashion using standardized strategies Implement the updated Traffic Light Eating Plan with children and adolescents Encourage children and adolescents to increase physical activity and to decrease sedentary behaviors Teach self-monitoring skills using food records and physical activity habit logs.
