Peter Zeihan

Director of Global Analysis

 

 As Director of Global Analysis Mr. Zeihan leads the development of Stratfor’s political and economic forecasts. 

 

For seven years Mr. Zeihan has been instrumental in Stratfor’s coverage of a broad range of geographic and topical areas, at times directly overseeing the firm’s efforts for Central Europe, the former Soviet Union and energy issues. He has also played a leading role in Stratfor’s East Asian and Middle Eastern analyses. This rich experience has led to the development of the Stratfor Global Market Brief as well the creation of a global energy analysis, sought-after tools for leaders across the business spectrum.

 

Prior to joining Stratfor, Mr. Zeihan worked with the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia, and was formerly Susan Eisenhower’s office coordinator while with the Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Washington, D.C. In such capacities, he regularly analyzed developments in Asia, Europe and the former Soviet Union while producing briefs and publications for a variety of clients.

 

Zeihan has a master’s degree in political and economic development from the Patterson School of Diplomacy, a postgraduate diploma in Asian studies from the University of Otago in New Zealand and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Truman State University.

Kamran Bokhari

Senior Analyst, Middle East and South Asia

Kamran Bokhari is a Senior Analyst, Middle East & South Asia with Strategic Forecasting, Inc (Stratfor), a private U.S. intelligence firm. He is also pursuing a doctorate in political science. Bokhari has published numerous analytical, scholarly, and theoretical articles related to politics of the Islamic world and has presented research papers in many academic forums. He has also been interviewed by a number of leading media outlets as well. His areas of specialization include (but are not limited to) international affairs, security, terrorism, comparative political systems, Islam and democracy, modern Muslim political thought, and Islamist movements. Bokhari – a former Islamist activist - has been with Stratfor for four years during which he has played a pivotal role in enhancing Stratfor's understanding on a diverse array of geographical areas - Israel/Palestinian Territories, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. He has been behind the creation of a system to help understand Islamism and jihadism.

Bokhari obtained a Bachelor of Science from Missouri State University in 1999. His major was political science and minor was international relations. He then earned a Masters of International Affairs & Administration from the same school in 2002 with comparative political systems as his cognate field and wrote a thesis entitled 'Islam & Democracy in the Light of Contemporary Islamic Resurgence'. Later on he pursued a Masters degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas (2001-03) and then moved to Washington, DC where he was working on his PhD in political science at Howard University before immigrating to Canada in January 2005.

Reva Bhalla

Director of Geopolitical Analysis

As the Director of Geopolitical Analysis, Reva Bhalla plays an integral role in ensuring Stratfor upholds its reputation for rapid, accurate and predictable intelligence. Her job involves managing the geopolitical analysts, assessing the geopolitical value of headline events, shaping forecasts and maintaining the flow of open source and human intelligence.

Bhalla came to Stratfor as an intern in August 2004, and was offered to become a full-time analyst specializing in the Middle East and South Asia just three months later. While working as an analyst, she developed a deep understanding of the region and began picking up on management skills as the company’s Internship Director. Soon enough, Bhalla graduated from an analyst position to become Stratfor’s Assistant Director of Geopolitcal Analysis, and then her current role as Director of Geopolitical Analysis. In addition to her management role, Bhalla is the senior analyst of South Asia and plays a key role in Stratfor’s Middle East coverage. She has appeared on major media networks such as Voice of America to discuss her analysis on Iran, and has represented Stratfor at a number of political and security conferences in the United States and abroad.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas with a B.A. in political science, and plans to pursue her Masters in security studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Bhalla has traveled across six continents and will travel anywhere her passport will take her.

Donna Kwok

East Asia Analyst

Fluent in Cantonese (native) and Mandarin, Donna’s professional experience spans London, Sydney, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Washington DC and Austin. After graduating from Oxford University (UK) with a BaHons in Economics & Management, she worked for three years as a management consultant in corporate strategy in London (Deloitte/Andersen), with clients including Virgin Mobile UK, the London Department of Transport, Deutsche Bank and Siemens. Before arriving in DC August 2004, she spent one year in Johns Hopkins SAIS' Nanjing campus pursuing the first half of her MA (China Studies, International Econ & Finance) in Mandarin. During her time at SAIS, she also worked at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (operational strategy), and in the Emerging Asian Markets department of JPMorgan Singapore (economic research).

 

 

Daniel Kornfield

Latin America Analyst

Daniel Kornfield has been a public policy analyst at Stratfor focusing on corporate social responsibility and human rights issues since February 2005 and a Latin American geopolitical analyst since February 2007. Prior to his work at Stratfor he served as a Program Director for the Crotona Center, part of the South Bronx Educational Foundation. He has also done research internships in Madrid, Spain, Sao Paulo Brazil and at the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in political science in 2003. He received both a Brazilian and an American high school diploma, and has a certificate in English/Portuguese Portuguese/ English translation and interpretation.

Lauren Goodrich

Eurasia Analyst

Lauren Goodrich grew up country-hopping approximately every two year, living in places such as Russia, Germany, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Belieze, Costa Rica, Jamica, Israel, Lebanon and Egypt. But it was in Eurasia that her interest was peaked and she focused her academic studies.

 

Ms. Goodrich is finishing a masters in Russian, Eastern European, Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas. She has completed a bachelors in Slavic Language and Culture, in which she specialized in the Russian language Tomsk Polytechnical University and the University of Texas; a bachelors in Russian, Eastern European, Eurasian Studies from Tomsk State University and the University of Texas; a bachelors in Religious studies, specializing in religious conflict from the University of Texas; an associates degree in Theology specializing in Markesan theology from Perkins School of Theology; not to mention countless minors in different history, English, literature and biology fields.

 

Ms. Goodrich worked for the World Peace foundation since her early teens, building hospitals, clinics, schools and orphanages around the world. Founding the Russian Peace Foundation in 1996, she has built 5 orphanages (three in Siberia and two outside of Moscow), as well as, a school for the deaf in Tomsk. She also leads and organizes teams of doctors and dentists to visit her orphanages in Russia, and helps organize trips for medical teams to Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. From 2000-2002, Ms. Goodrich was a professor at Tomsk Polytechnical University, their first American ever hired.

After interning with Stratfor for just under two years, she is now the analyst in charge of Eurasia.

Kathleen Morson

Director of Public Policy Analysis and Operations

Kathleen Morson is Director of Public Policy Analysis and Operations and an International Business analyst on the East Asian regional team at Stratfor.

Kathy joined Stratfor in 2003 as an analyst and has served as director of public policy for two years. She specializes in identifying and following policy issues relating to Western businesses, including market-based and legislative campaigns focused on consumer products, as well as emerging efforts to create a renewed progressive political and social movement in the U.S. She is currently focusing on building her expertise in emerging business-focused public policy issues in the East Asia region. She has a degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. She recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay area after living in Washington D.C. for 9 years.

Davis Cherry

Davis Cherry graduated Centre College cum laude with a double major in economics and international relations and completed graduate work at Oxford University’s School of Geography with a MSc in Nature, Society & Environmental Policy. As an undergrad, Davis took particular interest in applying environmental, anthropological and development issues to his majors and wrote his senior thesis on the relevance of geographic determinism to societal development. During grad school, he examined the changes globalization brings upon corporations, in terms of societal and government expectations, and civil society and non governmental organizations through both a capitalist and neo-Marxist framework. Supplementing his studies, beginning as a “Navy brat,” Davis has traveled to Mexico, Cuba, Vietnam, several South Pacific Islands and throughout most of Western Europe. Further he enjoys participating in political activities and meeting and networking with influential and powerful people in Washington, D.C.

Astrid Edwards, a Sydney girl born and bred, is nevertheless a constant wandered, particularly through Asia and Europe.
