Job Description

Job Title: Territory Manager

Company: Carnegie General Insurance Agency

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Operations Manager

Salary Range: Introductory Grade ($2,500-$4,000), Regular Grade ($2,500 - $5,000)

Status: Exempt/Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Maximize production from assigned brokers.

2. Develop marketing plan for geographic spread and production of quality book of business.

3. Recommend and monitor producer appointments.

4. Develop, train and evaluate producers. Write reports on each producer visit.

5. Responsible for recommending rehabilitation or suspension of unacceptable producers.

6. Coordinate and attend industry conventions as necessary.

7. Extensive local travel.

8. Advise management of industry trends, developments and competition.

9. Requires strong communications skills. Bi-lingual is an asset.

10. Previous sales experience preferred.

11. Provide input to Carnegie for product development.

12. Requires a valid California driver’s license, liability insurance w/ minimum 50/100/25 limits and dependable transportation.

13. Perform duties, as assigned, within acceptable time and quality standards as set by the company.

14. Ideal candidate is highly motivated, sales oriented, and social.

Education and/or Experience:

College education is valued but not required. Working knowledge of industry technology is required.

Technical/Language/Mathematical Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and recognize grammatical and spelling errors. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and dates. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
