Job Description

Job Title: Marketing Manager

Division: Exhibition

Department: Life Sciences

Reports To: Group Marketing Manager

Job Purpose:

• To ensure exhibitions and conferences worked on are marketed effectively.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Timelines are adhered to in promotional activities

• Show and individual targets met as set out by Marketing Manager/Exhibition Director

• Marketing KPI report

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Marketing

• Creation and implementation of marketing strategy for the entire exhibition/conference campaign

• Setting out entire budget, drop schedule and media plan

• Implement an integrated marketing strategy for the entire exhibition/conference including exhibitor, conference and visitor campaigns

• Using the full marketing mix to promote the show in accordance with the marketing strategy – from Exhibitor promotion through to Visitor promotion and Conference promotion

• Setting up media deals with external organizations to ensure maximum exposure at lowest cost to show budget.

• Ensuring show websites are fully up to date with latest information.

• Management of PR agency in co-ordination with the show manager

• Coordination of design and production of all marketing collateral, including sales brochures, conference brochures, visitor tickets, print advertisements, web banners/emails etc.

• Copywriting and proofing of all marketing materials in conjunction with show manager.

• Updating and adhering to agreed marketing budget.

• Providing KPI reports for monthly update meetings with Marketing Director / Exhibition Director.

General

• Managing and co-ordination of all external suppliers including Print, Mailing House, Design and Research.

• Providing any other reporting information as required by show team.

Person Specification

Minimum Education Level:

• Educated to secondary standard (UK GCSE or equivalent)

Background Knowledge & Experience:

Essential

• Significant experience in a marketing role

• Proficient in the use of MS Office including intermediate/advanced Word and Excel

• Thorough understanding of direct marketing initiatives including mail and email marketing

• Database development and growth including segmentation / advanced targeting

• Online marketing experience to include search engine optimisation and banner placement

• Significant exposure to design and print suppliers / agencies

• High level of copywriting and collateral production knowledge

• Excellent attention to detail

• Deadline and target driven

• Experience of working in pressurised environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable

• Specific Conference/Exhibitions experience

• Arabic language speaking

• Formal business/marketing higher education qualification
