(Client Install)

Beginning Setup:

- Determine the type of modem you are using as well as the COM port (This information is important and will be used later in setup)

o To find this right-click on the My Computer icon located on the desktop. Select Properties from the Menu. The System Properties window will appear. For Windows 95 and 98 systems, click on the Device Manager tab. For Windows ME, 2000 and XP systems, click on the Hardware tab and then on the Device Manager button. Under Modems select the modem you will be using for SalesFORCE and click Properties. Under the Modem tab the COM port is shown. Remember to write this down for later.

Hardware Setup:

- Install Qantel QID into a PCMCIA slot

o Note the serial number, as it will be needed later. Windows should automatically bring up the Hardware Wizard to find a driver. Just click on the Cancel button.

Qantel Software Setup:

- Insert the Qantel CD into the CD Drive

o Internet Explorer will launch a Qantel window with software and documentation.

- Click to install QicWare

o If prompted with a File Download dialog box, choose to run the program from its current location. A Security Warning may also appear. Click Yes to trust Qantel. Follow all default settings. If asked for a User Name, Company, and Serial Number enter:

▪ Your Company

▪ The 4 digit serial number that is on the Qantel QID

- Restart Machine if prompted

- Install QicPC II

o If the Qantel QICWARE window does not appear after restart, double-click on your CD-ROM Drive to display the Qantel QICWARE window. Click to install QicPC II. If prompted with a File Download dialog box, choose to run the program from its current location. A Security Warning may also appear. Click Yes to trust Qantel. Follow all defaults for the installation. If asked for a User Name and Company enter:

▪ STANPAK User

▪ Your Company

▪ The 4 digit serial number that is on the Qantel QID

- Restart Machine if prompted

- Install Qantel Print Connector

o If the Qantel QICWARE window does not appear after restart, double-click on your CD-ROM Drive to display the Qantel QICWARE window. Click to install Qantel Print Connector. If prompted with a File Download dialog box, choose to run the program from its current location. A Security Warning may also appear. Click Yes to trust Qantel. Follow all defaults for the installation. If asked for a User Name and Company enter:

▪ STANPAK User

▪ Your Company

▪ The 4 digit serial number that is on the Qantel QID

- Remove the Qantel CD and restart the machine

SalesFORCE Setup:

- Insert the Stanpak SalesFORCE Installation CD

- Click on Install AniTa 32

o Accept all default settings EXCEPT click on the check box to “Run AniTa Now” before clicking on “Finish”.

o Click on the Activate AniTa button

o Enter the Key, User Name and Company information

o Close the AniTa program

- Click on Install SalesFORCE File Repair Utility

o Accept all default settings

- If the notebook is running Windows 95/98, the Windows DCOM98 program must be run to update the system.

o Accept all default settings

- Click on Install SalesFORCE File Transfer Utility

o Accept all default settings

- Click on Install STANPAK FTP Utility

o Accept all default settings

Software Configuration:

- Configure SalesFORCE File Transfer

o Click on START | PROGRAMS | STANPAK | STANPAK FILE TRANSFER

o Click on ADD/MODIFY SETTINGS

o Set the COM port from the drop down list

o Add phone numbers for the office modem and click on SAVE PHONE NUMBERS

o Click on the ADD/MODIFY button under USER ID

o Administrator password is FIXER

o Replace NOT DEFINED 1 with the USER ID for this notebook

o Tab twice to USER PASSWORD and enter the user password for this notebook

o Enter the dialup password for connecting to your STANPAK server modem

o Click on the SAVE DATA button

o Create the Desktop and Start menu shortcuts by clicking on the Create Shortcuts button

o Return to previous menus and click on EXIT button

- Extracting the SalesFORCE application

o Click on the Extract button

o Click OK when finished

- Inputting the QANTEL passwords into the configuration file

o Click on START | PROGRAMS | QANTEL | Qantel QICWARE | Configuration File

o Replace the 0’s (zeros) in the password lines with the passwords supplied by Qantel

- Configure Qicware Service

o Click on Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services

▪ You may have to switch Control Panel to Classic View. This option will be in the left hand banner in the Control Panel window

o Scroll down the services listing until you find the Qantel Qicware service

o Right click on the Qicware service and left click on Properties

o Click on the Log On tab

o Click on the Local System Account radio button and click on Apply

o Click on the General tab and click on the Start button

▪ If you encounter an error at this point, record the error message and contact support.

o Click on OK.

o Close the Services, Administrative Tools and Control Panel windows, if still open.

- Configure QIC PC II

o To run QIC PC II make sure that you successfully initialized QICWARE. Click on the Stanpak SalesFORCE icon on your desktop to load QIC PC II.

o From the Connection menu choose Select Host. From the drop down list select 127.0.0.1. (PLEASE SIGN ON must appear) after setting

- Create Second Terminal

o From the file menu select create session. From the Connection menu choose Select Host. From the drop down list select 127.0.0.1. (PLEASE SIGN ON must appear) after setting

- Lock Settings

o In the Menu bar, click on Setup, click on Terminal Preferences. Click on the Global tab. Under the administrative settings at the bottom select the stared password and type ‘adm’ for password, uncheck allow create/close sessions and save and close the settings.

- Enlarge Window to Fill Screen

- Save Settings

o From the file menu select save session settings

o Close QIC PC II

- Configure STANPAK FTP program

o The notebook must be connected to the network to configure the FTP program

o Click on START | PROGRAMS | STANPAK | STANPAK FTP

o Enter the primary UserID into the input box

o Enter the Inventory Salesman number into the input box

o Enter the UNIX login into the input box (root)

o Enter the UNIX password into the input box (root password)

o Enter the UNIX servers IP address into the input box

o Click on the Get Path File button

▪ If you receive an error getting the path file, check the settings entered above

o Click on Enter to save settings

o Click on Cancel to close
