Instructions on how to create an Access database and import the pubschls.dbf file
1) Right Click on pubschls.dbf file and save to desktop or folder of your choice:

1. Select Save:

Close the “Download Complete” Window after the file is finished downloading.

3) Open Access:
[pic]
4) Open a new file in Access:
[pic]
5) Select Blank Database:
[pic]
6) Select Desktop or folder where you want your Public School Database to reside:
[pic]
7) Type “Public Schools” in the file name window and select Create:

8) Import the pubschls.dbf by selecting File, Get External Data, Import:

9) Select Desktop (or directory where you saved the file) in the “Look in” box at the top of the Import window and in the “Files of Type” box, select dbase IV:

10) Select pubschls.dbf, then import:

11) Successful Import:
[pic]
12) Select OK, and then Close the Import Window:

13) Double click on the pubschls.dbf to open the file in Access:
