CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study Recently, food business has become popular business and had

increased rate in business sector. It has made rapid competition among them. Pujaselera restaurant is one of the restaurants which is located in front of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. There are lots of stands which provide some kinds of food. The manager of Pujaselera restaurant said that to do his business, he still uses paper-based system. One of the weaknesses when doing such a system is the calculation of money which is done manually and the end process of calculation is to know the income. If we use paper- based, it will spend much time. Therefore, it can give disadvantage in many cases. Paper- based system will make difficult the worker when giving service toward their customers or guests.

Based on the problem, the manager of Pujaselera restaurant needs special software which is able to help in doing restaurant management and giving better service to their customers. On the other hand, the software can be applied around the restaurant.

Based on the problems, the writer wants to do a research entitled "FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF PUJASELERA MULTISTAND RESTAURANT"

B. Research Problem The research problem of the writer's research is how to make

Financial Management system in Pujaselera Restaurant.

C. Limitation of the Study To avoid the deviation or expanded problem in making the

research, here are the limitations of the writer's research: 1. Management system which manages financial calculation of

restaurant. 2. The display which provides the list of menu and price, the calculation

of order and profit for every stand. 3. The financial management system uses open source Lazarus

application.

D. The objectives of the study The research has some objectives, those are follows:

1. To make financial system application by using Lazarus which is able to manage the finance and calculate the customers' orders.

2. To help the manager to calculate the profit of each stand.

E. The Benefit of the Study 1. The Writer The writer wants to apply the knowledge that has been studied 2

during his education at information system field especially focuses on visual programming and the writer's new knowledge, particularly in restaurant business system. 2. The Manager of the Restaurant.

The manager gets the reports accurately so that it is clear and transparent. He also will get information needed from much data. 3. The Worker of the restaurant.

The worker can give fast and accurate service to the customers so that the customers will get satisfied service. They also can do daily operational system fast. It will help the workers to give report easier.

F. Research Paper Organization. Those are the structural organizations of the writer's research paper:

problem, limitation of the study, the objectives of the study, benefits of the study, and research paper organizations. CHAPTER II PREVIOUS STUDY

It contains the theories which are used in the research and system design.

CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHOD It describes the research object, problem analysis, design, testing

result and the implementation. It also presents specific and general system design. CHAPTER IV FINDING and DISCUSSION

It describes the finding of the research, start from analysis, design, testing result and the implementation. CHAPTER V CLOSING

It is the conclusion of the research and suggestions for the next research.
