MOTION FOR ORDER FOR

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF MOTHER

Attorney for the children in the above-captioned matter, Martha Stone, Esq., hereby moves this court, pursuant to Connecticut Practice Book §1037.1, for a psychological evaluation of the mother of the children, ___________.

In support of this motion, the counsel for the children avers the following:

1. According to the DCF Addendum to Social Study, dated ___________, the

children's maternal grandmother (___________) has requested that ___________and his two

younger brothers “be removed from her care by the end of this summer.” The same report

also noted that the mother, ___________, “has continued to maintain her sobriety

since her relapse in ___________.”

2. At the most recent court hearing on this matter in ___________, the court ordered an

updated psychological evaluation of ___________to assist with making a determination on his

placement needs.

3. In the updated psychological evaluation, conducted on ___________and filed with

the court on ___________, Dr. ___________ noted, that without an updated psychological evaluation of the mother, it would not be possible to determine whether placement of ___________ with his mother would be feasible. Dr. ___________ also noted that to generally “determine treatment needs or other services” concerning ___________ and his mother, “___________ would need an updated psychological evaluation.”

4. A determination of ___________ ability to parent ___________ and his two brothers is needed in order to best serve the interests of ___________ in particular and the family in general. Such an evaluation would be important in determining not only an appropriate placement plan, but also in generally determining the appropriate treatment needs and other services needed by the family. In the opinion of Dr. ___________, such a determination first requires an updated evaluation of ___________.

WHEREFORE, the attorney for the children respectfully requests that this court grant

the motion for a psychological evaluation for the mother.
