Ex: The homework assignments will abate soon then you can relax.

2. Culpable: adj: deserving blame

Ex: He was culpable of the crime, and was sentenced to perform community service for 75 years.

3. Desultory: adj: disconnected, random, lacking consistency or order

Ex: She made a desultory attempt at conversation.

4. Divest: Verb: to strip or deprive, dispossesses

Ex: After the scandal broke, the board divested Alex of his power and asked him to step down as CEO.

5. Dulcet: adj: melodious, soothing, pleasant to the ear

Ex: Gifted with a dulcet voice, she sang the sick baby to sleep.

6. Emollient: adj: Softening, soothing to the skin

Ex: This emollient cream makes my skin appear smooth and flawless.

7. Erudite: adj: learned, scholarly, having great knowledge

Ex: The history teacher is such an erudite scholar that he has translated some of the most difficult and abstruse ancient poetry.

8. Eschew: verb: shun, avoid, to keep away from

Ex: He never sought high office and eschewed medical politics

9. Esurient: adj: hungry, greedy

Ex: Around lunch time the students become esurient.

10. Euphemistic: adj: referring in a mild way to something unpleasant

Ex: The girl used the euphemistic remark, "I am vertically challenged." instead of saying she was short.
