CASTLEREA COMMUNITY SCHOOL: is holding an open afternoon, Thursday May 16th from 2pm to 5pm, for its QQI (FETAC) Level 5 in Community Health Services course. This course is designed to enable students to plan a career in social care. The course will appeal to those who seek to work in the community, work with people who are disadvantaged, youth work, the care of people with Special Needs and care of the elderly. The subjects include Social Studies, Care Provision & Practice, Caring for Children (0-6yrs), Understanding Special Needs, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Communications and Work Experience. DARE TO CARE - BE A DANCER FOR CANCER: Rooskey Community and surrounding areas are holding the Today FM Dare to Care Dance for Cancer on Monday 13th May at 11am at Community Centre Rooskey. All are welcome to attend and no dancing experience necessary. All donations will go to Irish Cancer Society. Contact 086 8534100.

TRIP TO BALLINA: Our trip to Ballina on May 23, 2019 is now fully booked (with a waiting list). We ask anyone who has booked and may not be travelling to inform Michael immediately. Please pay €50 no later than Tuesday May 14, 2019 between 11.30am and 1pm at the Community Centre Rooskey. Bus leaves Rooskey Centre at 9am on the 23rd May. Call Michael 087 2516245.

HOLY ROSARY: Your are invited to come and pray the Holy Rosary at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Tarmonbarry each evening during the month of May at 8.30pm for the Renewal of Faith in Ireland and Protection of Life. Join thousands of people as we go to our local Grottos to pray the Holy Rosary. See for further details.

OUR NEW PLAYGROUND!!: Rooskey Town and Country Development, together with Leitrim County Council, are delighted to announce the official opening of Rooskey Playground. This will take place on 15th May at 6pm. All are welcome to attend particularly representatives of our voluntary organisations.

RECENT DEATHS: Please pray for the Repose of the Soul of Phil McGovern, Florida, brother-in-law of Jody Washington, Rooskey who passed away during the week. May He Rest in Peace

CHOIR PRACTICE: A choir practise will be held in Slatta Church on Thursday 16th May @ 8pm in preparation for 1st Holy Communion - all singers very welcome.
