Thank youYear of St. JosephBishop Kemme announced that our diocese will celebrate a “Year of St. Joseph” starting December 8th, 2020, to December 7th, 2021. He will officially consecrate the Diocese to Joseph and Mary on January 1st, 2021. One of the key reasons is to commemorate the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being solemnly declared Patron of the Universal Church by Pope Pius IX in his decree Quemadmodum Deus. Sadly, Kansas doesn’t offer many mountaintop prayer opportunities, but there are lots of other options! Your church or its adoration chapel might be wonderful places to start. It would also be good to establish a prayer place in your home. A quiet room or a comfy chair with a table where you can keep your rosary, statues or icons, and/or prayer books will work — keep it simple! Then choose a time (or times!) of day that you can keep consistent and develop the habit.? It is said that prayer changes the pray-er!
