Beaufort County Treasurer's Office Hosting Unclaimed Property Event

The Beaufort County Treasurer's Office has teamed with the South Carolina State Treasurer's Office to hold the County's first unclaimed property event aimed at helping residents to learn information about claiming their unclaimed property, such as undeposited checks. According to Beaufort County Treasurer Maria Walls, CPA, there are funds being held by the State for individuals who may not be aware that they have unclaimed money. The event will be held Thursday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Bluffton Branch Library, located at 120 Palmetto Way. Individuals interested in attending the event should make an appointment in advance by contacting the Beaufort County Treasurer's Office at 843-255-2600 or by visiting and selecting the "contact" link. Prior to making an appointment, individuals are encouraged to search the unclaimed funds database on the State Treasurer's website at treasurer. or by clicking here.
