QuestBridge is a nonprofit organizer of the National College Match Program, which helps high-achieving low-income students gain admission and full four-year scholarships to leading colleges. Apply free of charge at by September 29, 2020 (COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR COUNSELOR IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS AND TO REQUEST A REFERRAL). The following profile is posted on the QuestBridge website: Primarily A’s in the most challenging courses and strong writing ability, strong SAT or ACT scores, and household income of less than $65,000 annually/eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch.

ROTC PROGRAMS-The Reserve Officers Training Corp is a college program offered at over 1,700 colleges and universities across the US that prepares young adults to become officers in the US Military. In exchange for a paid college education and guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to service in the military after graduation. At training/rotc, you will find Army ROTC, Marine and Navy ROTC and Air Force Rotary details and application processes.

MOUNT TABOR PTSA SCHOLARSHIPS-Join the PTSA by February 1, 2021 to be eligible for $500-$1,000 ACADEMIC, ARTS & ATHLETIC scholarships. Scholarship applications will be available in January. Join the MT PTSA---find Mount Tabor PTSA on the website, then click on Purchase PTSA Membership Only

CHEATHAM-WHITE SCHOLARSHIP @ NORTH CAROLINA A & T STATE UNIVERSITY/NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY

Criteria: Fall of 2021 will begin the fourth year of this program; eligible students are exceptional scholars with a broad range of interest, proficient in areas of arts and sciences, and demonstrate strong leadership potential and commitment to service; cumulative weighted GPA of 4.0 and 1280 SAT or 28 ACT.

Three MT seniors may be nominated by the school. Other well qualified seniors may choose to self-nominate.

Awards: Full scholarships with summer enrichment programs

Deadlines: December 1, 2020 for NC A&T; December 15 for NCCU

GOLDEN DOOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Criteria: Academically strong DACA students

MOREHEAD-CAIN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM @UNC-CHAPEL HILL

Criteria: The program is a unique educational opportunity that includes a full four-year undergraduate scholarship, a laptop computer, global travel, real-world work experience, and summer enrichment experiences for students who embody the four selection criteria: leadership, scholarship, moral force of character, and physical vigor. Additionally, the following adjectives identify the attributes of successful M-C nominees: bright, collaborative, self-aware, brave, purposeful, empathetic, optimistic, and original. Three MT seniors may receive school nominations while other highly qualified MT seniors may apply directly.

Awards: Approximately 75 full four-year scholarships (about one half from NC high schools)-includes tuition and other expenses, including student fees, housing, meals, books, supplies, travel and miscellaneous and a fully funded, four-year Summer Enrichment Program, and a laptop computer

Deadlines: October 15, 2020 is the deadline for submission of all forms

PARK SCHOLARSHIPS @ NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY

Criteria: The program provides a superb educational opportunity for exceptionally talented and well-prepared young men and women to develop in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Two MT seniors may receive school endorsements while other highly qualified MT seniors may apply directly (outstanding students who are not endorsed by their school may choose to self-endorse).

Awards: Approximately 37 full scholarships-$111,000 (two-thirds to NC residents) with personal computer-$2,200, and grants to fund additional enrichment experiences

Deadlines: October 15, 2020 is deadline for high school endorsements; November 1, 2020 is the application deadline

LEVINE SCHOLARS PROGRAM @ UNC-CHARLOTTE

Criteria: Are you AMBITIOUS, CREATIVE, CURIOUS, DARING, DRIVEN, ECLECTIC, INNOVATIVE, LIMITLESS, SERVICE-ORIENTED, SUPPORTIVE? Exceptional high school seniors that demonstrate commitment to community engagement, passion for learning that is reflected in an excellent academic record and capacity for ethical leadership that beckons fellow students to a higher standard; successful candidates will have a GPA (unweighted) of 3.8-4.0 and score 1900-2400 on the SAT or 29-33 on the ACT

Awards: 20 students selected annually for full tuition, room and board, new laptop computer and four summer experiences-$105,000

JEFFERSON SCHOLARS PROGRAM @ THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

Criteria: Demonstrated uncommon academic abilities, exceptional leadership talents and an understanding of the broader community around them-LEADERSHIP, SCHOLARSHIP, CITIZENSHIP (one MT senior may be nominated to apply by the MTHS scholarship committee)

Awards: 4 years of tuition, fees, room & board, and expenses; extensive enrichment program (over $280,000 for non-Virginians)

THE ROBERTSON SCHOLARS PROGRAM @ UNC-CHAPEL HILL AND DUKE UNIVERSITY

Criteria: Scholars that pursue a range of passions, academic interests, and personal and professional goals; strong applicants demonstrate purposeful leadership intellectual curiosity, strength of character and collaborative spirit

Awards: 36 full merit scholarships (half at each university)

Deadline: November 15, 2020 (All early notification applications for admission may be considered, but completing the application ensures consideration)

LOWELL L. BRYAN SCHOLARSHIP @ DAVIDSON COLLEGE

Criteria: Scholar athletes who are strong leaders both in the classroom and in their sport; exceptional seniors who plan to pursue participation in one of 21 Division 1 sports offered

Awards: Two Bryan Scholars, one male and one female, are chosen for each incoming class ($30,000 annually)

RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Criteria: African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society; applicants must excel academically, exhibit exemplary leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need

Awards: At least 10 scholarships ($10,000 per year for four years)

Deadline: January 9, 2021 for Ron Brown scholarship only (All materials must be submitted together).

REYNOLDA ROTARY CLARENCE “BIG HOUSE” GAINES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Students that attended Cook Elementary School and have attained a 2.5 GPA or higher-more information to come

COCA-COLA SCHOLARS FOUNDATION

Criteria: High achieving high school students who have demonstrated leadership and service

Awards: 150 scholarships of $20,000 ($3 million each year)

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Criteria: Students that will graduate in spring of 2018 with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and SAT (combined critical reading and math) of 1200 or higher and/or ACT composite of 26 or above and demonstrate financial need (applicants of family income up to $95.000 will be considered)

Awards: Several scholarships up to $40,000 per year

HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Criteria: Students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity along with plans to graduate in spring of 2016 and pursue a bachelor’s degree-national scholarships, state scholarships, career & technical scholarships and targeted scholarships

Awards: Several scholarships that range from $2,500 to $25,000

ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION “MOST VALUABLE STUDENT” SCHOLARSHIPS

Criteria: High school seniors based on SCHOLARSHIP (50%), LEADERSHIP (40%), FINANCIAL NEED and QUALITY OF APPLICATION (10%); successful applicants are usually at or near the top 5% of the class and have SAT scores exceeding 1200 (CR & M) or similar ACT

Awards: Local Regional, State, and National scholarships (500 four-year awards), ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 per year-six local scholarships (3 male and 3 female) will be awarded; top scholarship at national level is $50,000

ELKS LODGE NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

Criteria: Applicants must be pursuing acceptance into a Nursing Program which, upon completion, qualifies the students for taking the nurse licensing exam; students in the top 25% of class are strongest applicants

Awards: $1,000 local and state scholarships

Deadline: December 8, 2019 (Mr. Huck will deliver all completed applications to the WS Elks Lodge #449)

COLLEGE JUMPSTART SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: All high school seniors committed to going to college and able to express higher education goals; essay required

Award: $250 to $1,000 scholarships
