Welcome

Welcome to the South Forsyth High School Equestrian Team. It is with pride and enthusiasm that we welcome you to our team. We have worked hard to create an environment where all riders can nurture their equestrian abilities, learn about horsemanship, gain leadership experience, and compete in a supportive environment both as an individual and as part of a team.

To provide a robust program where students may letter, compete, earn scholarships, and meet established equestrian guidelines, our club is part of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA). Based on our current athletes and facilities, we are primarily an English riding club.

We hope this handbook helps new riders transition into the team and clarifies expectations for riders and parents. We hope you find participation in both IEA and the South Forsyth Equestrian Team a rewarding experience.

Being a member of the team takes a commitment from the rider and the parents. We rely on parent volunteers and the hard work of each rider to be a successful team. We are fortunate to have fantastic coaches, quality horses, supportive school administration, and dedicated parents and riders.

We look forward to the upcoming season and are pleased to welcome you to the South family.
