God's Word Alive Women's Group
Join us as we walk with Jesus
through the Gospel of St. Mark!
When Mark wrote his Gospel, to become a follower of
Jesus could incur disapproval or outright rejection from friends and family
members. It also entailed close fellowship with people one would have
previously shunned. Yet, as one reads Mark's work, one is impressed
with it's overflowing JOY. St. Mark writes in such a way as to invite US
to join the same adventure as he and Jesus' first disciples and followers
engaged in. Come and encounter Jesus, grow in knowledge of who He
truly is, and see how wonderful it is to live life with Him. Wednesday
Mornings 10am, introduction on April 17, SPX Dowd Center
(church basement) Women of all ages and walks of life are welcome.
Call Rita at 610.543.5348 for more info.
The Don Corcoran Gospel Reflection Group
We meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to
8:30 PM for prayer, Bible readings, reflection, and faith
sharing. We welcome new members, but also look for
our past members to join us. Meeting notifications are provided weekly by email. Please contact either Tom Clark - 484-995 1140, Bernie
Long - 610-220-1183, or Mike Gallagher - 484-684-2438, if you have
any questions and/or to provide your email.

Pentecost Sunday
Dear Sisters & Brothers,
Happy Birthday to you! Pentecost is often called the Birthday of the Church. We, the people
of God, are the Church so again, happy birthday.
We celebrate the Gift of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. The Holy Spirit dwells within each of
us to help guide and sanctify us in God¡¯s Kingdom. May the Holy Spirit continue to help make all
of us holy.
This week, on Tuesday, May 21st we will gather to honor Our Blessed Mother with our
parish May Procession. We will begin in Church at 7pm, with prayers and hymns, followed by our
outdoor procession (weather permitting) to the outdoor shrine for the crowning of Our Blessed Mother.
All are welcome! Plan to invite someone to join you in our parish celebration of Mary, Our Mother.
Monday, May 20th, will be the parish Golf Outing at Paxon Hollow Golf Course. Thanks
to all who have organized this event. Thanks to all who are sponsors and supporters of every fashion
in this great day.
This Thursday, May 23rd, I and my brother priests of the Class of 1974 of St. Charles
Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook will gather for our annual reunion. Our class begins our
reunion and celebration of our priestly ordination by celebrating Holy Mass. We will celebrate
Mass in our church at 12 noon on Thursday. Any who wish to attend this Mass of our 50th
anniversary of ordination are most welcome. Following Mass we will gather for refreshments
and lunch together. Again, any who wish to attend the Mass are most welcome.
As you know from previous letters and bulletin announcements, the bishops of our country
have called for a three-year National Eucharistic Revival. This revival began on Corpus Christi
Sunday two years ago. The first year was focused on the parish level. Our parish is participating
in this effort with our nine-month Parish Eucharistic Novena. The prayers and reflection videos
from all nine months are available on our parish website for any who would like to still view them,
and I would encourage you to do so.
During the third year, the focus will shift to a year of going on mission. This will begin with
a National Eucharistic Congress to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from July 17-21. As part of the
preparation for this National Eucharistic Congress, there are four Eucharistic Processions with the
Blessed Sacrament currently happening around the country. These processions will literally cross the
country (coming from north, south, east and west), and converge in Indianapolis at the beginning of
the Congress.
This national procession will be in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from May 30 June 3. Flyers with the schedule of events can be found on the windowsills in our Church. I
would encourage you to participate in some way during these special days. I would also like to
draw your attention to the events happening locally. On Sunday, June 2, there will be an evening
event at 7:00pm at St. Laurence Church in Upper Darby. On Monday, June 3, there will be
morning procession and Mass at Ss. Simon and Jude Parish, in West Chester. All are invited
and encouraged to attend these and the other events. More information an be found at:
.
Happy Birthday!
