PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk assists in the ongoing maintenance of internal records and reports and in the preparation and maintenance of records and schedules for all agency accounts and programs. The Finance Clerk assists in the appropriate and safe handling of agency financial records, forms, correspondence, and documents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Service Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk is responsible for:
a. processing, verifying and balancing invoices and charging GST and PST for all programs as appropriate;
b. preparing invoice payments and authorizations for payment; c. reconciling purchase orders with invoices and statements; d. maintaining safe processing of all finance related records, i.e.
photocopying, mailing and filing; e. distributing cheques for pickup, mailing or depositing; f. ensuring filing system is efficient and effective; g. assisting audit preparation for interim and year-end; h. processing payroll payments for staff.

2. Organizational Responsibilities
As a representative of Dilico, the Employee is responsible for:

b. acting in accordance with relevant legislation and Agency Policies, Standards and Procedures;
c. proposing changes within Dilico that would improve the quality of service to Anishinabek children, families and communities;
d. developing and maintaining respectful, cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services to Anishinabek children, families and communities;
e. understanding his/her role and responsibility in maintaining a safe workplace and reducing workplace injuries;
f. applying Anishinabek culture, values, traditions and teachings into programming where possible;
g. ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and safekeeping of agency records; h. participating constructively in the supervision process with the
immediate Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
A minimum one year Bookkeeping Certificate is required.
2. Work Experience
Minimum one year work experience in accounts payable, preferably in a non-profit agency.
3. Skills/Abilities
a. proven knowledge of and ability to effectively carry out basic financial procedures, e.g. ledger entries;
b. ability to work productively with limited supervision and under stress of deadlines;
c. ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team; d. ability to maintain confidentiality; e. good written and verbal communications skills; f. excellent spelling, punctuation and general grammar;

g. ability to work within the policies, procedures and the vision, mission and core values of Dilico Anishinabek Family Care;
h. good knowledge of the Anishinabek culture and issues affecting Anishinabek children, families and communities in and around the district of Thunder Bay;
i. ability to understand and/or speak an Anishinabek language. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
a. satisfactory CAS Penlieu Search; b. satisfactory Criminal Records Search; c. ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Finance Manager in
relation to service requirements; d. must possess a Class "G" Driver's Licence and have access to a
