Job title:Schools Liaison AdministratorReports to: School Operations ManagerDepartment:School of Education Location:FalmerGrade:4Purpose of the roleTo work as part of the Partnerships Team in supporting the Head of Practice Learning and Development. To place students into schools and to work with the Placement, Employability and Alumni Officer in overseeing payments to partners and other costs, and the checking processes for compliance with statutory bodies. To liaise with partner schools on all matters of teacher training placement administration. Line management responsibility for: NoneMain areas of responsibility:Administer the placing of students in appropriate school settings to fulfil the requirements of their courses, in liaison with academic staff. Create, maintain and develop appropriate database records of student placements, and all associated student details.Be the point of contact for placement providers, academic staff, link tutors, university tutors, and students with reference to schools liaison enquiries. Advise students on the procedures governing school experience placements. Devise, prepare and distribute communications to placement providers.To undertake the administration of schools liaison for the full range of ITE courses including primary, secondary and FE courses. Draft correspondence and reports, and prepare handbooks, documentation and other materials as appropriate.Maintain accurate records of reports from tutors, students and schools and forward them to the appropriate members of the academic staff. Gather, evaluate and collate information required for the production of an annual report on schools liaison and other monitoring and evaluation activities, and to draft these reports.Service meetings as necessary, requiring the preparation of agendas and relevant papers, attendance, taking accurate minutes and following up actions and tasks.Arrange and administer training events, which include sourcing and making arrangements with external venues or online meeting tools, liaising with schools and colleges, and arranging for the payment of travel payments.Maintain and develop the School’s link with school placement providers and colleges as appropriate, including negotiating on routine matters.Support the School Placement, Employability and Alumni Officer in developing, maintaining and administering the financial records system for schools liaison.
