POSITION PURPOSE:

The Human Resources Generalist supports all aspects of Human Resources including, but not limited to, the administration and maintenance of these major areas: payroll, benefits, 401K, employee personnel records, recruitment and screening of candidates, organizational development and employee training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Coordinates benefit program, 401K, and administers payroll bi-weekly using Netchex and processing payroll changes.

• Maintains knowledge of current issues and laws related to employee benefits and assures organization adherence.

• Maintains all personnel records for Credit Union employees.

• Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, reference checking and hiring of all Credit Union employees.

• Assist with posting all positions internally and externally.

• Works with vendors and outside sources to recruit the best candidates.

• Conducts new hire orientation, prepares new hire paperwork, and processes it into HRIS system.

• Schedules and performs benefit enrollment meetings with employees.

• Assist with inputting change requests and maintaining HRIS program.

• Assist with classification programs, which include classifying and reclassifying positions and writing job descriptions.

• Issues employee badges and maintains badge program.

• Coordinates and maintains “Bus Fare” employee program.

• Assist with updating/maintaining employee intranet human resource page.

• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures Credit Union compliance with all Federal and State statues.

• Assist with employee safety, training and development programs/initiatives.

• Gathers information concerning employee attitudes, morale and efficiency. Meets with VP of Human Resources to discuss actions to improve workplace environment.

• Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

• Assist with Human Resources related training for all employees as well as specialized training for managers and supervisors on topics such as sexual harassment, workplace violence, interviewing within legal guideline, etc.

• Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position.

• Make suggestions to VP of Human Resources on improving work procedures in the Credit Union.

• Assist with Employee Survey Action Teams (ESAT) to ensure proper implementation of employee ideas to ensure success and serves as a member of the ESAT Training Team.

• Assists with work study program with local high schools and job corp. programs.

• Responsible for maintaining written procedures for position.

• Other projects as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.

• PHR preferred

• Three to five years (3-5) years of Human Resources experience in recruitment, employee relations, training and development, labor and wage law, administering payroll and benefits functions.
