Henkel India organizes Science competition for Schools in Kurkumbh

Kurkumbh, Daund: Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt Ltd. (Henkel India) today, conducted the Researchers’ World, Science Competition and Exhibition 2019 at Shivshankar Lawns, Kurkumbh. The competition saw participation from over 41 schools from the region. The subjects for this competition were focused on Henkel‘s core value of sustainability and included themes such as Environment, Earth Science, Solar Energy, Waste Management and Clean India. This initiative displays Henkel’s commitment to holistic development of society through its CSR initiatives.

Researchers’ World focuses on creatively introducing science to children by giving them hands-on experience of conducting scientific experiments. The Pandhrewadi School demonstrated 8 science experiments that are a part of the Researchers‘ World curriculum. This initiative has specific learning objectives to help children gain insights into the process of scientific enquiry. The content is tailored to children of ages 8 to 10 and takes a holistic approach towards teaching and learning by putting children into the role of an actual researcher. Henkel is commited to holistic development of society and will be rolling out the Researchers‘ World initiative across multiple schools early next year.

The event was graced by Mr. Wanve, Block Education Officer, Daund and Mr Hingne, Education Officer, Daund who witnessed the Researchers’ World experiments being conducted by children. They congratulated Henkel India on the various CSR initiatives undertaken and were pleased with the objectives set out under the Researchers‘ World initiative.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mahesh Aloni, Operations and Projects Manager, Henkel India, said, “Taking care of the environment is critical and our Researchers‘ World initiative encourages children to be curious and to develop a spirit of discovery. Children play an important part in shaping the future, hence, we have deliberately choosen sustainability themes to help children think and be curious.“

The Researchers’ World, Science Competition and Exhibition 2019 awarded the the 3 best projects, which were the first placed school was also awarded a "Science Labatory" and presented with the Researchers World Rolling Trophy. In addition to the prizes all students were given a certificate of participation.
