Students will be charged a parking application fee of $100.00 for an academic year. A $5.00 application fee will be charged for the following programs below. Check the appropriate box if it applies. Guidance Counselor signature is required to qualify for reduced parking fee. All fees are non-refundable. Students must show their driver’s license when applying to park.

York High School Student Parking Regulations 2018-2019

Parking at York High School is a privilege for students in good standing. This privilege is extended to some students that have special school-related transportation needs that YCSD transportation cannot meet. Students who do not have permits to park on campus may not operate a vehicle on school grounds during the school day (7:00 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.).

Application: (only completed applications can be considered for approval)

Parking applications will be available in the Main Office and upon completion should be submitted to Mrs. Martinez for approval. Parking is on a first come first serve bases.

Fees: (please attach to completed parking application)

Parking fees are $100 (checks made payable to YHS) per year and are non-refundable. Career Mentoring students, Governor’s Science and Technology Magnet students participating in the Mentorship Program for credit, and School of Arts (Practicum for credit only) students may qualify for a reduced permit rate of $5 (Guidance Counselor signature required). New Horizons does not qualify for the $5 permit because transportation is provided. Students who drop special programs will be required to pay a $95.00 balance, the programs are listed above.

Parking Regulations: (please read carefully)

Students are expected to follow all school rules while in the parking lot. Students are also required to follow the guidelines stated below. Failure to do so will result in an infraction (which could lead to suspension) or revocation of parking privileges. No money will be refunded.

• If someone is parked in your spot please park in the range and report it to the main office.

• Vehicles without parking permits are prohibited and may be ticketed or towed (at owner’s expense).

• Speed limit in the parking lot is 5 mph.

• The parking lot is off-limits during the school day. Do not return to your car without reporting to the Main Office first.

• Parking permits are issued to individuals and are not transferable to anyone.

• Park only in your designated student space in the main lot and/or range area. (See Map)

• ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY AS EXPLAINED IN THE YCSD STUDENT HANDBOOK AND CODE OF CONDUCT.

• Excessive tardies may result in loss of permit. (car problems or traffic may not be excusable tardies)

• Destruction of private property will not be tolerated.

• The parking lot should be kept clean at all times.

• Student vehicles are subject to search if there are reasonable grounds to do so.

• The school is not responsible for vehicles or any of belongings while in the parking lot, but we will do everything we can to protect them. PLEASE KEEP WINDOWS UP, DOORS LOCKED, AND KEEP VALUABLE ITEMS (CELL PHONES, CD PLAYERS, JEWELRY, MONEY, ETC.) OUT OF VIEW AT ALL TIMES!
