Chapter 8 –The zodiac sign is Scorpio, the symbol is the scorpion, and the heroic value is loyalty. Philosophy: Machiavellianism. On pages 114-6, there is a scene in Grendel’s “movie” that reads like a poem. Re-read the stanza about the tree (1st new stanza on page 115). Compare this to Grendel’s rhetorical question about the lion (123). ................
