Information

During the week of December 19th through December 25th, the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to 172 calls for service. The following were the types of calls: 47 traffic stops, 18 civil process, 7 suspicious activity type complaints, 7 assists to other agencies, 3 vehicles in the ditch, 6 disturbances/domestics, 2 alarms, 2 accidents, 3 welfare checks, and 4 car/deer accidents.

COUNTY 2 / COUNTY 99, SAUK CENTRE, MN 56378

Pursuit

On 12/25/21, at approximately 0244 hours, Todd County deputies attempted a traffic stop for a speeding violation on County 2 near County 99. The vehicle, a 1997 Chevy truck, accelerated in an attempt to elude deputies. Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle on County 2 and then north on US 71. Deputies used a Stop Stick (tire deflation device) at the intersection of US 71 and State 27. The suspect vehicle continued north on US 71, a second set of Stop Sticks were used on US 71 near County 10 by a Long Prairie Police Officer. Both deployments of the Stop Sticks were successful. The pursuit continued through the city of Long Prairie. As the suspect vehicle turned south onto Lake Street from 4th Ave. S., Todd County deputies used a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Tactic) maneuver, causing the vehicle to spin out and come to a stop. At this time, the driver / lone occupant, Taylor Huston of rural Long Prairie was arrested. Huston is being held at the Todd County Detention Center pending charges. The Todd County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Long Prairie Police Department and the MN State Patrol.

COUNTY 10 / 225TH AVE, LONG PRAIRIE, MN 56347

Accident Property Damage

On 12-24-2021, at approximately 0549 hours, Sarah Browen was driving eastbound on County Road 10, near the 225th intersection, when her vehicle had gone into the ditch causing damage to the front of the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Browen was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

US 71 / 241ST AVE, BROWERVILLE, MN 56438

Assist Other Agency

On 12/16/21 at 0953 hours, The Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries on US 71 near 241st Ave, just south of Browerville. A juvenile female was driving southbound on US 71 in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe when she lost control of the vehicle due to the icy road conditions. The vehicle went across the centerline and was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu that was northbound. The driver of the Malibu, Jennifer Panuska, Long Prairie, was transported by the Browerville Ambulance to the CentraCare Hospital in Long Prairie where she was treated for non life threatening injuries. The juvenile driver and juvenile passenger in the Tahoe were transported by the CentraCare Ambulance to the CentraCare Hospital where they were treated for non life threatening injuries. Browerville Fire Rescue, Browerville Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, and the MN State Patrol assisted at the scene.

Fire

On 12/7/2021 at approximately 0056 hours, Todd County Deputies, Long Prairie Ambulance, Swanville and Long Prairie Fire Departments were dispatched to 21359 Morrison Line Rd for a report of a structure fire. The structure was a total loss and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
