This would be truly an outstanding book if the author would add two more features, neither of which would take him much time or effort. First, he should list the plurals for each word which in most cases would show that the word takes an S or an ES. Second, he should show the alphagram for each word. That is, list the letters in the word in alphabetical order. For example, the alphagram for VOLVOX is LOOVVX. Many Scrabble players study alphagrams for words and then put the letters on their rack in alphabetical order. They can then recognize when they have a word in their rack. These two small changes would result in two huge helps to Scrabble players.

1000 Totally Unfair Scrabble Words is the logical crown jewel in the Flash Vocabulary series. Derek McKenzie didn't simply link all of his words into one volume. Although that is convenient, he went the extra mile, creating themed lists (Mammals, Coins, etc.) in addition to a well-designed

alphabetical directory.Of course, the pictures had to go. For that, you still need the individual books. McKenzie recommends visualization and themes as aids for learning and retaining(!!) large lists of words.All in all, 1000 Totally Unfair Scrabble Words is a treat for those of us who have the collection. It is a wonderful introduction for those of you who haven't checked out the ten-part series, yet.

I was a a bit disappointed because the first word I looked up wasn't there. Of course there are tons of words used in word so he couldn't include all. It is fun to have the definitions for obscure words and I'll learn some new ones.

Good stuff! I stopped playing WWF because of the "Acceptable Words with Friends bulls***." Increasing actual vocabulary is worth the trip, but filling your head with nonsense words is highly annoying. These WORDBUFF lists are awesome! Especially for a Scrabble player (or anyone interested in weird words), he makes it interesting and fun to learn. So much better than just studying lists and definitions. The videos are so educational, and make it easier to remember the words and meanings.

Works beautifully. I would suggest that you be able to specify which position in the word to look for the "contains" letter. Also, you can't specify that you have "wild" letter tiles. It would be great if you didn't have to put up with all of the ads, but they're ignorable.

So far, I have used this book many times even if though some word's don't work for me, they get me thinking of words that mean almost the same, but works with the letters I have at that time. It improves my thinking process.

Extremely difficult to use. You can't go directly to the letters you want, you have to know where they are in relation to the pages, you can't just go to "q" for instance. The ad for this is misleading.
