During this presentation, you will learn about downtown and area attractions and engage in discussion and dialogue about the Scranton area, including opportunities for student engagement.

Admissions & Financial Aid: Next Steps

A representative from the Office of Admissions will discuss what to expect in the coming months for an accepted and/or enrolled student at Scranton. A representative from the Office of Financial Aid will discuss the successful steps to apply for all sources of financial assistance and review federal, state and University of Scranton aid programs. In addition, a review of our Family Financing Plan (FFP) will walk parents through the calculation of remaining costs and sample financing strategies. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Value of a Scranton Education

During this presentation, you will learn about the many ways that The University of Scranton stands out from other colleges and universities. University representatives will provide information and leave time for questions about our academic offerings, career development support and other important topics.

Academics at The University of Scranton

Current students will share their insight and personal experience on our honors, study abroad and student research programs. Honors programs include the Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program, Honors Program and Business Leadership Honors Program. Our Study Abroad Program is worldwide and offers unique opportunities for students to immerse themselves in another culture. The Faculty/Student Research program engages students in research activities as part of their academic experience.

In addition to spending time in the DeNaples Center, you are welcome to visit the Weinberg Memorial Library during your visit. The Heritage Room, a beautiful student study area on the fifth floor, provides a quiet location for you to relax. The entire second floor provides a quiet space as well, with several "public use" computers available.

Admissions Help Desk

The Admissions Help Desk is located in the lobby outside of the DeNaples Center 407. Our staff will help with shuttle service, directions and questions. The telephone number for the Help Desk is 570.941.5446 should you need to contact us. There will also be a white information tent at the base of the Commons just outside the Weinberg Memorial Library; from that central point on campus, our staff can point you in the right direction to any of our buildings or facilities.

Bookstore

The Bookstore is located on the first floor of the DeNaples Center and is pleased to offer 10% off your purchase. This offer is valid today only for Royal Days visitors who present this program to the cashier.

Financial Aid

If you have an appointment scheduled with Financial Aid, please go to their office on the fourth floor of St. Thomas Hall, Room 401, at the appropriate time. There are walk-in appointments available until 4:30 p.m. as well.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center in Pilarz Hall will be open for drop-in visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Fitness Center is located across from the DeNaples Center (corner of Mulberry Street and Monroe Avenue). A student representative at the front desk will greet you and provide a brief tour.

Meals

The meals provided are complimentary. Complimentary refreshments will also be available throughout the day in DeNaples Center 407.

Military Science (ROTC)

Military Science (ROTC) in the lower level of Rock Hall will be open until 4:30 p.m. for drop-in visitors.

Shuttle Vans

Shuttle vans will run from the DeNaples Center to the Radisson and Hilton hotels and to Fitzpatrick Field from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The shuttle pick-up point is by the red balloons outside of the DeNaples Center on the Parking Pavilion side.

DESCRIPTIONS OF STUDENT PRESENTATIONS

Resident/Commuter Student Life

Residence Life staff members will briefly share what it is like to live on campus, including our residence hall layouts, included amenities and the ways we seek to make your residence hall feel like home at Scranton. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about our exciting Residential Learning Community offerings for both resident and commuter students, hear from our resident assistants and ask questions.

The Arts

Enjoy a tour of the historic Houlihan-McLean Center, home of Performance Music at Scranton. Meet the Director and find out more about musical opportunities as both a performer and an audience member.

Faith & Service

Student leaders and professional staff from the Office of Campus Ministries discuss faith and service at Scranton, including retreats, worship opportunities, service opportunities locally, across the nation and abroad, and social justice programs. Regardless of your faith tradition, Campus Ministries is committed to journeying with you as you become women and men for and with others.

Division III Athletics

This session, presented by the Associate Athletic Director, will provide information about our Landmark Conference affiliation, NCAA Division III status and an overarching view of our athletics department and its role within the broader University community. Additionally, athletic facility updates and upcoming initiatives will be discussed.

Getting Involved on Campus

With over 80 clubs and organizations on campus, the Scranton community offers something for everyone! Current students will share their experiences with getting involved on campus, followed by a question-and-answer session.
