To celebrate the success of this series, I thought it would be appropriate to discuss some of the show's movie sites in the SFV that are well known by now. Most of the show was filmed in Van Nuys to fill as Scranton, Pennsylvania, which is discussed below. The Office is an American television series broadcast by the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). It is an adaptation of the BBC series of the same name. The Office was adapted for the American public by Greg Daniels, a veteran writer for Saturday Night Live, King of the Hill and The Simpsons. He is co-produced by Daniels' Deedle-Dee Productions, and Shine America, in association with Universal Television. The original executive producers were Daniels, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, with many others being promoted in the following seasons. The series depicts the daily life of office employees in the branch of Scranton, Pennsylvania of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. To simulate the appearance of a real documentary, it is shot in a single camera configuration, without a studio audience or a laugh track. The show debuted on NBC as a mid-season replacement on March 24, 2005, and featured Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B. J. Novak and Ed Helms among the main cast. The star of the Carell series, who played Michael Scott, left the series near the end of the seventh season. Since its debut, the show has broadcast 199 episodes and is currently broadcasting its ninth season, which was confirmed the last series. The series is scheduled to end with an hour ending on May 16, 2013. The first five seasons of The Office received critical acclaim, were included in several top TV series, and won several awards including four Primetime Emmy Awards, one of which was for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2006. The series initially debuted at low ratings, but during its second season it became the most popular series on NBC and was finally chosen to follow the Super Bowl XLIII. The Office's off-network union began at the end of 2007 on TBS and Fox stations in the United States (Wikipedia). The home of Oscar Martinez which was revealed in the second season, episode 13, "The Secret", was filmed at 5232 Longridge Avenue Van Nuys not too far from the location above. Phyllis Vance's third season wedding, episode 15, "Phyllis' Wedding", was filmed at Church of North Hollywood at 4390 Colfax Avenue Studio City which has also been used for other television programs, commercials and movies. Also used in season 3, episode 18, cocktails was David Wallace and his wife of him, Rachel's, a house that launched a party for all the managers of Dunder Mifflin. In the third season, episode 19, "The negotiation", the Hungry Fox restaurant has been used located at 13359 Sherman Way in North Hollywood. You can see more than iamnotastalker regarding this place. The Westfield Fashion Square shopping center was used as a steamtown shopping center in the third season, episode 22, "Womens Appreciation". In season 6, 21, "Happy Hour", Jillian's was used as Sid & Dexter's Sports Bar which is located at 1000 Universal Studios Blvd in Universal CityWalk in Universal City. TM s Food Restaurant which is located at 11 838 Ventura Blvd at Studio City. This location is also used in the 1982 film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.The Casa di Meredith Palmer was 142 of Emelita Street in Van Nuys. This house has been used in the seventh season, episode 21, ? ?Michael? TM s Last Dundies?, which is located a couple of blocks north east from the house of Jim and PAM mentioned above. It is possible that even other episodes have been shot in SFV but I did not have the opportunity to review all the 9 seasons to find them so enjoy the locations mentioned above. I remember seeing an episode in which Burbank Blvd in the Sepulveda dam was used as a guide scene to recreate the appearance of a pennsylvania bucolic. Furthermore, Hansen Dam was used as a Scriston Lake, while the Dwight farm was shot in Simi Valley.
