Note: Believers are those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Who was crucified so that He could take away our punishment for sin [death], Who died, and Who rose again and conquered sin and death so that now He is able to forgive our sins and offer us eternal life if we choose to love Him and have a personal relationship with Him while we live on this earth. Those who believe are still sinners, but are forgiven when confession and repentance occur and are promised eternal life in a place free from sorrow and pain and full of love and joy. On earth, believers have hope and joy in their salvation through Christ and grow to be more like Christ by serving and suffering as He did in His earthly life. Good deeds on earth do not save a person (as that occurs through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior], but do result in heavenly rewards.

Believers can face death without fear: Psalm 23:4 “Yeah, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.”

The death of believers is precious to God: Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints [those who believe in Him as Savior and Lord].”

Death is a privilege for all believers: Philippians 1:21: “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

Believers will live in God’s House forever: Psalm 23:6: “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” John 14:1-4: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me [Christ]. In My Father’s House are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me so that you also may be where I am. You know the way to be place where I am going [which is believing on Christ as Savior per John 3:16: “For God so loved us that He gave His only Son, Jesus, that whoever believes in Him will not die {spiritually}, but will live forever.”].

Believers who have died are at home with the Lord: 2 Corinthians 5:1-8: “We [believers] are confident and know that as long as we are at home in our [earthly] bodies we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight….We would prefer to be out of our bodies and at home with the Lord.”

In life and death, believers belong to God: Romans 14:8 “If we [believers] live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to God.”

Death has no hold over believers because Jesus conquered sin and death on the Cross! I Corinthians 15:54-57: “’Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin….But thanks be to God! He gives us [believers] the victory [over death] through our Lord Jesus Christ!”

Jesus died so believers could live together with Him in life and in death: I Thessalonians 5:9-11: “God did not appoint us [believers] to suffer wrath [the Tribulation], but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that whether we are alive or dead [physically] we may live together with Him [at the rapture]. Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are doing.”

Nothing can separate believers from God, not even death: Romans 8:35-39: “…Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us[believers] from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus gives believers eternal life since He is the Resurrection and the Life: John 3:16, John 10:27-30, John

11:17-26, John 3:14-15, John 3:36, I John 5:11-12

We will meet our loved ones in heaven. 2 Samuel 12:18-23 [King David said of his dead infant son]: “Now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

There will be no more sorrow or suffering in heaven or eternity: Revelation 21:1-4: “Now [in eternity] the dwelling of God is with men and He will live with them. They will be His people and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

After Jesus comes again, we will be made like Him and will be given a new, glorified body: I John 3:1-2: “How great is the Love the Father has lavished on us, that we [believers] should be called children of God! ...We know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is [in glory]!” Philippians 3:20-21: “But our citizenship [home] is in heaven. And we eagerly away our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.”

Christ’s resurrection assures our resurrection: I Corinthians 15:20-23: But Christ has indeed been raised from the grave…for since death came through a man [Adam and Eve’s sin], the resurrection of the dead comes also through a Man [Jesus Christ]. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”

Not all people on earth will accept Jesus as Savior: John 3:36: “Whoever believes in the Son [Jesus] has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see [eternal] life, for God’s wrath [due to sin] remains on him [or her].” I John 5:11-12: “This is the testimony: God has given us [believers] eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He [or she] who has the Son has life; he [or she] who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

God does not want people to die in their sins because they will be judged: 2 Peter 3:9-10: “The Lord is not slow about His promise [that He will return] as some think of slowness, but He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance. But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief and then the heavens will pass away with aloud noise and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.”

People who choose not to believe in Jesus as their Savior will be punished: “2 Thessalonians 1:9: “And these [unbelievers] will pay the penalty of sin eternally, away from the presence of the Lord and away from the glory of His power.” Matthew 25:41, 46: “And He [Jesus] will say to those [unbelievers] on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels’…And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous [those who believe in Jesus] will go into eternal life [with God].”

Believers are guaranteed an inheritance and crowns of reward from Father God that can never be destroyed!: “I Peter 1:3-9: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade—kept in heaven for us [believers], who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time [eternity].” 2 Timothy 4:7-8: “I [Paul} have fought the good fight. I have finished the race and I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award me on that day, not only to me, but to all who have longed for His appearing.”

Those who confess their sins will be forgiven. No sin is too great for God to forgive!: I John 1:9: “If we [believers in Christ Jesus as Savior] confess our sins, He who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.”
