In addition, nameplate for compressors shall show capacity in cfm at rated pressure.RECIPROCATING AIR COMPRESSORSMaterials: 2-stage design compressor unit constructed with cast iron housing and head, heat treated forged steel or ductile iron shaft, 1-piece connecting rods, aluminum pistons with rings, high strength alloy suction, and discharge valves and splash lubrication. Statically and dynamically balance rotating parts.Low Oil Level Switch: Equip compressor with a low oil level switch to automatically shut down compressor in event of oil pressure failure.Air Control Valve, 10HP Unit and Larger: An air control valve, integral with oil pressure system, shall keep compressor unloaded until normal operating speed and oil pressure is reached.Stop-Start Control: An air pressure activated electric switch turns the compressor on and off. As receiver pressure rises to a pre-determined cut-out point, switch shuts off power to motor. On a drop in pressure to cut-in point, switch shall reconnect power to motor.Pressure switch to cut out at 175 psi with minimum differential of 20 psi.Automatic Alternator: Equip duplex units with an automatic alternator to change lead/lag start each time compressor runs.Silencer: Manufacturer's standard replaceable cartridge type filter/silencer of adequate capacity for each pressor and Motor Mounts: Mount motor and compressor on 1-piece or welded steel formed base plate, mounted on top of tank, with provision for V-belt adjustment.Warranty: Provide with a full 1-year factory warranty.Electrical Connection: Compressor and all controls are to be pre-wired to the control panel.Electric Motors: Each compressor shall be driven by a continuous duty, open drip-proof electric motor. Refer to Section 22 05 13 for motor minimum efficiency.AIR RECEIVERTank: Receiver shall be built to ASME code for unfired pressure vessels, Section VIII, and bear code symbol and stamp for a working pressure of 200 psi. Receiver shall be of a vertical or horizontal configuration as indicated in unit schedules.Fittings: Fittings shall include a safety relief valve and an automatic condensate drain.Finish: Tank shall have a prime coat and an enamel finish.*****Note to Specifier: Use following SDR Series for 50 SCFM and under, units are 110 Volts *****AIR DRYERGeneral Requirements: A self-contained direct expansion refrigeration cycle air dryer complete with heat exchanger, refrigeration compressor, automatic controls, moisture removal trap, internal wiring and piping, and full charge of R-134A refrigerant.Connections: Factory insulate air inlet and air outlet connections.Heat Exchangers: Heat exchangers to consist of air-to-air and refrigerant to air coils. Provide centrifugal type moisture separator located at discharge of heat exchanger. Provide heat exchangers with automatic control system to bypass refrigeration system on low or no load condition.Dew Point: Refrigeration unit of hermetically sealed type to operate continuously to maintain specified 33 to 39 degree F dew point. House unit in steel cabinet provided with access door and panel for maintenance and inspection.Gauges: Unit shall be provided with an air outlet pressure/temperature gauge and a power on light.Warranty: Provide with a full 2-year factory warranty.Electrical Connection: Air dryer and all controls are to be pre-wired to the control panel.PRESSURE REDUCING STATIONGeneral Requirements:Provide pressure reducing stations complete with automatic reducing valve and bypass and low pressure side relief valve and gauge.Valve shall be capable of reducing the primary pressure of 175 psi to a secondary pressure range of 125 to 15 psi.REGULATORSGeneral Requirements: Regulators shall be used in compressed air systems to reduce system pressure to a level which can be used to efficiently operate air tools and other air operated equipment, and to maintain the reduced pressure at a constant level despite changes in the inlet pressure and changes in downstream flow requirements.Regulators: Diaphragm operated, direct acting, spring loaded, with manual pressure setting adjustment.Provide a pressure gauge downstream of each regulator.FILTERSGeneral Purpose Filters: Centrifugal action filter to remove coarse solid particles and liquids with filter element to remove remaining particles to 5 microns.Units to have a metal bowl with sight glass, a pressure differential indicator, an automatic drain, and a wall mounting bracket.Oil Removal Filters: Coalescing filter to remove submicron solid particles and oil aerosols to 0.01 micron. Unit to deliver air with a maximum remaining oil content of 0.01 ppm at 70 degrees F, with an inlet concentration of 8 ppm.Units to have a metal bowl with sight glass, a pressure differential indicator, an automatic drain, and a wall mounting bracket.FLEXIBLE HOSE CONNECTORSGeneral Requirements: Flexible hose connectors shall be constructed using corrugated stainless steel inner tubing, stainless steel single braid cover, and Schedule 40 steel male end connectors, and be of the same size as the air main piping. Connectors shall be as manufactured by Minnesota Flexible Corp., MFCS Series, or Owner approved equal.- EXECUTIONINSTALLATIONCompressor Mounting: Install compressor unit on concrete foundation with sole plates and isolators.
