ERIC HANSON Eric Hanson is a decades-long resident of the greater Seattle area. He has focused his career on work in the maritime industry. A former Navy Oceanographer, Eric holds a bachelors' degree in History and a master's degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Washington. Eric spent ten years working in the private sector maritime industry managing vessel and cargo operations in Puget Sound. Eric recently retired from the Port of Seattle where he worked as Planning Manager for the Seaport. Currently, Eric is an active Adult Leader in the Sea Scout Program. He has resided in the Queen Anne neighborhood for the last 22 years.

JOHN LOVIN John Lovin is a twelve-year resident of Queen Anne and has lived in the Pacific Northwest for thirty years. He is a US Army veteran having been stationed at Fort Lewis, and previously worked in law enforcement for the City of Seattle. He is currently part owner of two small businesses immediately adjacent to SPU. As a residential and commercial property owner, he is very interested in balancing commercial expansion while being sensitive to the needs of local neighborhoods. He and his spouse are raising three young children in the neighborhood and can usually be found in the nearby parks or on Queen Anne Ave North where they are close with several local shop owners. He is excited to foster a dialogue between neighbors and the University to develop a realistic long-term plan for development.

PATREESE MARTIN Patreese Martin, AIA, LEED AP BD+C is a Principal in the Seattle office of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. She leads teams and client groups with a perspective drawn from her experience in an unusually varied range of projects, including residential, cultural, higher education and planning projects. Her work has been honored with numerous design awards and distinctions. Patreese drives Bohlin Cywinski Jackson's AIA 2030 Commitment effort and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, and a leader in mentoring the professional growth of emerging professionals. She is a member of the City of Seattle Design Review Board and a former AIA Seattle Director, and has served on numerous university student juries and volunteer boards. Patreese holds a BA from the University of Washington and a MA from the University of Pennsylvania.

JOHN OLENSKY (ALTERNATE)

John Olensky is an Architectural Building Envelope Consultant with Evolution Architecture in Seattle. John has a master's degree in the Conservation of Historic Towns and Buildings from Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium. With Evolution, John's focus is on the rehabilitation of existing and historic buildings throughout the Puget Sound. Originally from Western Canada, John has practiced for 24 years in the US in several states, most recently California and Hawaii. John has lived in the Magnolia neighborhood for the last 5 years with his wife and 3 sons. Most of all, John looks forward to learning and collaborating with a team of people with diverse backgrounds and experience, making local Seattle neighborhoods the best they can be for life, work, and education!

NANCY OUSLEY

Nancy Ousley served on the Seattle Pacific University Master Plan Implementation Committee as Vice Chair and is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Kenmore, WA. Before joining the Kenmore staff, she managed planning and community/economic development programs at the WA Department of Commerce, City of Seattle and King County. She earned a BA in Sociology from Washington State University and master's degrees in social work and Public Administration from the University of Washington. Nancy is on the Board of Directors for two historic preservation nonprofit organizations--the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and Isle Royale Families and Friends Association. She grew up in the Palouse Hills of Whitman County, WA and she and her wife are longtime residents of Queen Anne Park, near the SPU campus. They enjoy visiting the shores of Lake Superior.

DAVID RICE

David is a local small business owner, working as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments in his office a few blocks east of the SPU campus. He earned a BA in biology from the University of Iowa and a MBA from University of Washington's Foster School of Business.

Originally from Iowa, he first moved to Seattle in 1988. In 1993, he married a long-time Queen Anne resident. They have lived in New York City and Jacksonville, FL, and returned to Queen Anne in 2005. David is a board member of the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium, Queen Anne's Own Barbershop Chorus--the Seattle SeaChordsmen. Since 2017, he has been a Presenting Sponsor of the Queen Anne Farmer's Market. He is an active member of Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, the Ballard Rotary Club, the Norwegian Commercial Club and the Ballard Elks Club.

He enjoys spending time with his wife, their two college-age children and their Irish Terrier Hazel.

JOHN RUSH

John Rush currently works as a lead software engineer at a local startup - Amperity. He has lived in the neighborhood since 2013. John and his wife enjoy walking their dog through the neighborhood and campus. He's interested in the growth of the neighborhood and Seattle Pacific University.

DEBRA SEQUEIRA Debra Sequeira is Professor Emerita in Communication at Seattle Pacific University (SPU), where she served for thirty-seven years. Her many roles at SPU included Chair of the Department of Communication and Journalism, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dean of Arts and Humanities. She received her doctorate in Cultural Communication from the University of Washington in 1987. She continues to serve SPU as mentor to junior faculty and staff and is an equity and inclusion activist. She and her husband, Professor Mark L Taylor, are active in their church community, St. Paul's Episcopal, in Lower Queen Anne. Debra has lived in the Queen Anne neighborhood since 1978. JOHN STODDARD John is a lifelong Seattle resident and currently lives in Ballard. He works for Ilahie Properties and is responsible for managing holdings along West Ewing Street which include the old Gascoigne Lumberyard, Bob Oates Plumbing, Boat Tech, most of the uplands between 6th Avenue West and 11th Avenue West, and the Foss Shipyard. SUE TANNER Ms. Tanner is a long-time resident of Seattle's Queen Anne Park neighborhood. After completing law school, she spent 23 years serving as a civil deputy prosecuting attorney in two different Washington counties, advising government officials on land use, environmental, and other legal matters, and litigating land use cases. In 2003, she was appointed by the Seattle City Council to the position of Seattle Hearing Examiner and served in that position until she retired in 2018. During that time, she heard and wrote decisions on hundreds of appeals from City land use and other decisions and issued written recommendations to the City Council on several Major Institution Master Plans. In retirement, Ms. Tanner and her husband are finally embarking on a long-delayed remodel of their home.
